While BMW is on a mission to simplify its model line-up by using completely different series names for different body styles (made on the same platform), it's going to take some time before the expected coupe forms of the 1-series and 3-series (called 2-series and 4-series respectively) hit the market.
Caught in its natural form i.e. without any camouflage is the upcoming 2-series. The car, as we mentioned above, will be placed where the 1-series coupe once was. Autoblog has published the pictures of a completely undisguised 2-series spotted during a photo shoot. According to the website, the 2014 2-series will debut in a few months.
There are no new engines reported as of now, so this BMW is expected to use something from its impressive line-up of engines. In the looks department, the pictures suggest it to have a very balanced design, with a lot of cues from the current BMWs.
