Much has been said and talked about the all-new 2013 Skoda Octavia, ever since it was officially shown in December last year. From its engine lineup, European pricing and the hot vRS version, the much awaited sedan has graced the pages of OnCars quite a few times in the past few months.
Now, Skoda India itself has confirmed that it will showcase the 2013 Octavia on August, 2013. With the unveiling of this third-gen model, Skoda will bring back the ‘Octavia’ nameplate.
The 2013 Octavia is Skoda’s first model to make use of Volkswagen’s MQB platform which offers significant production cost savings. The car is bigger and yet lighter than the outgoing model i.e. the Laura. Engine options should include two petrol and one diesel unit; a pair of 1.4-litre and 1.8-litre TSI petrol engines and a 2-litre TDI diesel is likely to power the upcoming model.
