SsangYong reveals XIV-1 Concept – an insight into the future design language of SsangYong and a precursor to the upcoming premium B-segment CUV from the Korean carmaker.
Why is it important?
SsangYong believes in the ideology of being ‘Robust, Specialist, Premium’ – and therefore the XIV-1 is synonymous with that belief. It has the robust stance inspired from the Korando, while the seamless glass-area (with no B-pillars) mimics the simplicity of a graceful yacht.
The specialist interiors are designed to maximise the enjoyment of the passengers by providing a moving communication space. The seats can rotate completely to enable passengers in communicating with each other in a better manner. These interiors are what give the concept its name – XIV-1 stands for 'eXciting user Interface Vehicle'.The LED headlights show SsangYong’s readiness to adopt latest technologies and to position its upcoming CUV as a premium offering in the global market.
Is it relevant to India?
YES. SsangYong is now owned by our very own Mahindra & Mahindra; and with M&M planning on bring the SsangYong brand to India, the premium CUV based on the XIV-1 could make its way into India too.
