
The Design:
Based on the X1 platform, the Bolt will be sharing a lot of components with Tata Zest and the only major similarity in terms of looks is the fascia. The new headlamp design, combining projector bulbs with highlighted and blacked out elements to create a unique eye-like effect, and some tweaking of the front fender makes the Bolt look more expressive. As for the back the most eye-catching bit of design at the rear is the blacked out C-pillar arms that give the Bolt a reverse floating roof look. The designers have shed the tail lamp’s legacy design of vertically stacked elements going all the way up to the roof. Instead it is now a more petite, clean and very European combination that ends below the rear glass and below the shoulder line wrap.
The Comfort Features:
The interiors are expected to have quite some resemblance to the ones in the Zest, but the differentiating factors are going to be the choice of interior colour theme and the upholstery, which will add a more plush and well-finished look. If the reports are to be considered true, than the Bolt might have some issues with the ergonomics. The seatings might feel a bit narrow and the squabs might seem too firm to a few, where as the height adjustment will only be available for the driver's seat and the steering wheel will be a little slim.
The Engine Specifications:
Under the hood you will be getting an 1193cc 1.2-litre Revotron turbo-charged engine, which is tuned to generate 84bhp of power and a torque of 140Nm. In the diesel version we get a 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel motor that can generate 73bhp of power and peak torque of 190Nm. Both the engines will be mated with a five-speed manual gearbox. The Bolt will also be offering an AMT (automatic) version.
