This small car is priced at INR 1.99 lakh for manual version, while the much-awaited Nano AMT is tagged at INR 2.69 lakh. This small car will directly take on the Maruti Alto K10 AMT, which was earlier crowned as the most affordable automatic car in India. Engine Specification –

The Tata GenX Nano AMT is powered by the same twin-cylinder, 624cc petrol engine that also powers the previous generation. This engine churns out 38.19PS of power and 51Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a five-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), which sends the power to its rear wheels. This particular gearbox is sourced from the Zest compact sedan, but the Nano's AMT only gets “Sports” mode for peppy driving experience.

On the other hand, the Alto K10 AMT is equipped with an efficient yet powerful 998cc, 3-cylinder engine producing 68PS of power and 90Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to its front wheels via a five-speed automated manual transmission.

Mileage –

Interestingly, the Maruti Alto K10 AMT is more fuel efficient than the Nano AMT. Despite being powered by a more powerful engine, 1.0-litre, the Alto K10 AMT is claimed to return an impressive fuel economy of 24.07kmpl. On the other hand, the Nano AMT returns 21.9kmpl of mileage.

Dimensions –

Dimensionally, the Nano AMT is 3099mm long, 1495mm wide and 1652mm tall, and it comes with a 2230mm of wheelbase. In comparison, the Alto K10 measures 3545mm in length, 1490mm in width and 1475mm in height, and it has a wheelbase of 2360mm. Clearly, the Alto K10 scores high when it comes to their dimensions.

The Nano AMT offers a large ground clearance of 180mm, which is more than sufficient to handle Indian road conditions. The Alto K10 comes with 160mm of ground clearance. While the cheapest automatic car offers a boot space of 94-litres, the Alto K10 comes with a trunk space of 177-litres.

Price –

The GenX Nano AMT is available in two variants- XMA and XTA. While the XMA is priced at INR 2.69 lakh, the XTA variant is tagged at INR 2.89 lakh (Both prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi). On the other hand, the Alto K10 AMT is priced at INR 3.95 lakh.
