Tata Kite to be launched by the end of 2015: Price in India expected to be around INR 4 lakhs.

After the success of the all new ZEST, Tata Motors is set to launch two new cars in India, the Tata Bolt and Tata Kite. Both of these upcoming cars are to be hatchbacks and the car makers have confirmed that both new launches will happen in 2015. While Tata BOLT is expected to be launched in early 2015, the KITE will hit the Indian streets only by the end of 2015.

The all new Tata Kite will be built in the line of the new Tata Indica’s. According to recent reports a prototype of Tata Kite has be spied testing in the country. If the reports are to be believed the Kite will get a smaller steering wheel and is also likely to boast features like new music system with USB and AUX connectivity.

The new all Tata Kite will be powered by a 1.05-litre 3-cylinder diesel engine capable of producing 65PS of power and 140Nm of torque. As for the petrol variants the Kite will be powered by a 1.2-litre engine. Both the variants will be mated by a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. Tata Kite is expected to enter the market to compete with the likes of Chevrolet Beat, Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Celerio, Ford Figo and Hyundai i10, and Hyundai Grand i10 in the same segment.

On the pricing front, Tata Bolt is expected start from INR 4.2 lakhs. As for Tata Kite thought we do not have a definite price tag to it we can expect it to be around the same range figure as the bolt.
