Tata Motors is making efforts to revamp its brand image in the domestic market by proffering better quality products to its customers. Tata Tiago small car has certainly emerged as a game changing product for the car maker. Another game changer for Tata is Nexon sub-4m SUV which broke covers last year in the domestic market. Recently, the carmaker also initiated the bookings for the Nexon AMT which is expected to launch in India soon. Moreover, the AMT derivative of the SUV was put on display at recently concluded Auto Expo 2018. Spreading its wings in the other markets, the car maker also rolled out the Nexon SUV in Nepal market. Talking more about the sub-compact SUV, it is offered in both petrol and diesel avatars. The petrol unit is a 1.2-litre Revotron unit while the diesel version is a 1.5-littr Revotorq engine. The former makes 110Ps of max power against the peak torque of 170Nm whereas the latter is tuned to churn out 110Ps and 260Nm of power figures. Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard along with optional 6-speed AMT gearbox.
Main underlines of the Tata Nexon are projector Headlamps with Feline Eye shaped DRLs, dual tone paint scheme, shark fin antenna, LED tail lights, roof rails, 16-inch alloys wheels, and much more. Inside the cabin, the Nexon comes with engine start stop button, 3-tone colour scheme, front arm rest, ABS with EBD, 8-speakers, 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual airbags, parking sensors and reverse parking camera. As far as the pricing is concerned, the Tata Nexon SUV is currently on sale wherein the base variant starts from INR 5.99 lakh and the top end model gets INR 9.62 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The SUV competes against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV300 and others in the sub-4m SUV space.
