In a bid to revolutionize its brand image in the domestic car market, Tata Motors, a homegrown automaker, launched Tata Tiago small car in India last year. Priced at INR 3.24 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the car maker has retailed more than 65,000 units of Tiago ever since its launch. With more than 18 renowned accolades in its kitty, Tata Tiago became the most awarded compact hatchback in the country. Recently, the car maker also crossed 1 lakh bookings for its popular small car of which the top-end variant is quite popular followed by the AMT variant that has too received an overwhelming response. Tata Tiago is offered in both petrol and diesel derivatives wherein the petrol unit is powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron engine while the diesel engine gets 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine. The petrol engine is capable of producing 84bhp against 114 Nm of peak torque whereas the oil burner develops 69 bhp of max power with peak torque of 140Nm. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard while the 5-speed AMT is offered on the petrol unit only.
