Tata Tiago, Tigor and Hexa takes Tata Motors to a 10 percent increase in domestic PV sales for July 2017

For the month of July 2017, Tata Motors sold a total of 14,933 units in the domestic PV segment, a 10 percent increase over the last year's 13,547.

For the month of July 2017, Tata Motors has clocked an impressive 13 percent growth in the Indian car market. The total sales for the homegrown automaker, the cumulative of passenger and commercial vehicle, with exports combined, stood at 46,216 units over the last year’s 43,160 units, registering a growth of 7 percent. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for July 2017 were at 42,775 units, higher by 13 percent, over 37,789 units, in July 2016. In July 2017, Tata Motors passenger vehicles, in the domestic market, recorded sales at 14,933 units, with a growth of 10 percent, over 13,547 units, in July 2016, due to continued strong demand for the Tata Tiago and the Tata Tigor. While the car segment marginally de-grew by 1 percent at 12,125 units, the UV segment grew by 110 percent at 2,808 units sold, due to strong demand for recently launched Tata HEXA.  Cumulative sales growth of all passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were at 49,791 units, a growth of 10 percent, compared to 45,062 units, in the last fiscal. Also Read: Tata Nexon India Launch by Mid-August 2017; Price in India, Review, Features & Mileage – All You Need to Know

The overall commercial vehicles sales in July 2017, in the domestic market were at 27,842 units higher by 15 percent over July 2016, due to ramp-up of BS4 production, across segments. Tata Motors also passed on the benefits of GST to consumers by reducing the prices of its vehicles across all commercial vehicle segments. Talking about the exports, the company’s sales from exports was at 3441 units in July 2017, a decline of 36 percent, compared to 5,371 vehicles sold in July 2016, due to drop in volumes in Sri Lanka and Nepal. Commenting on the sales performance Mr. Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors, said,” With an improved customer buying sentiment post GST, we are delighted to record a growth of 10% in the passenger vehicle market, in July 2017. The Tata TIAGO continues to witness strong demand, the TIGOR and HEXA have also witnessed strong traction in the market. We continue to maintain cautious optimism and will work towards turning around the business, in line with our well-defined strategy.”
