Japanese car manufacturer, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced that the company is likely to soon increase the prices of its cars by up to 3% across its model range from January 2018. The price hike is considered after periodically reviewing input and freight costs. The price increase of Toyota cars will be effective from January 1, 2018. Ahead of the proposed price hike, Toyota Kirloskar Motors is offering various finance schemes and benefits of up to INR 90,000 on its range of cars. The Toyota Liva is priced between INR 5.56 lakh to INR 7.47 lakh (ex-showroom) and is expected to receive a price hike in the range of INR 16,000 to INR 22,000. The Toyota Fortuner is priced between INR 26.02 lakh to INR 31.75 lakh (ex-showroom) and is expected to get a price hike in the range of INR 78,000 to INR 95,000. The Toyota Innova Crysta is priced between INR 13.78 lakh to INR 22.30 lakh (ex-showroom) and is expected to receive a price hike between INR 42,000 to INR 67,000. The Toyota Corolla Altis is priced between INR 15.67 lakh to INR 19.58 lakh (ex-showroom) and is expected to get a price hike between INR 47,000 to INR 59,000. The Toyota Etios Platinum is priced between INR 6.88 lakh to INR 8.88 lakh (ex-showroom) and is expected to a receive a price hike in the range of INR 21,000 to INR 27,000. The Toyota Etios Cross is priced between INR 6.50 lakh to INR 8.22 lakh (ex-showroom) and is expected to receive a price hike between INR 20,000 to INR 25,000. The Toyota Land Cruiser is priced at INR 1.36 crore (ex-showroom) and is expected to get a price hike of up to INR 4.08 lakh. The Toyota Land Cruiser Prodo is priced at INR 90.51 lakh (ex-showroom) and is expected to get a price hike of INR 2.71 lakh. On the other hand, the Toyota Camry is priced between INR 29.97 lakh to INR 37.34 lakh (ex-showroom) and is expected to receive a price hike between INR 90,000 to INR 1.12 lakh. The Toyota Prius is priced at INR 44.61 lakh (ex-showroom) and is expected to get a price hike of up to INR 1.35 lakh. In an official statement, the company said, “There has been an increase in the cost of manufacturing of vehicles. Frequent fluctuation in the global commodity prices and foreign exchange rates have continued to impact our input costs, from both domestic as well as import fronts. Toyota has been absorbing the additional costs all this while, protecting the customers from price increase. However, due to the continued pressure of high costs, Toyota is considering a price increase of upto 3% across models with effect from Jan 2018.”
