The Innova Crysta, the latest iteration of Toyota’s premium MPV continues to make its mark in the Indian car market. Since its launch, about a year back, the same has now managed to sell 80,000 units in our country. To keep up the sales, the automaker has now launched a special edition of this MPV, called the touring sport.
Not only this, because of the enthusiastic sale, the market share of this MPV has increased from 33 percent to 42 percent. The Innova Crysta, in its latest avatar has gone premium, in terms of its price point, resulting in speculations that the sales might drop in comparison to the previous gen model. But it seems like that the same is not the case.
In its new avatar, the Innova Crysta gets a completely new exterior profile which is quite a lot more modern and contemporary than before. To address the issue with the diesel cars, Toyota, for the first time introduced a new 2.7-litre petrol engine in the Innova. This currently sells alongside the 2.4-litre diesel and the 2.8-litre diesel in the MPV’s line-up.
To further enhance the user experience, Toyota has made the Innova made available with both manual as well as automatic gearboxes. The manual ones are taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox while the automatic one is a 6-speed assembly.
Talking about the prices, the base petrol variant of the Toyota Innova Crysta retails at INR 13,72,800 lakh while the top of the line diesel goes for INR 22,15,000 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
