Next Generation Maruti Swift 2017: Maruti Suzuki India is now looking to bring the next generation Swift hatch with an aim to revive the hatchback which has seen sloppy sales for the last couple of months. The new generation Swift is expected to carry major design change on the exterior as well as interiors. Under the hood, the new Swift hatchback is expected to be seen with the same set of engines 1.2-litre K-series petrol and 1.3-litre MJD diesel. Maruti Ertiga 2018: Maruti Suzuki India is also working on the updated avatar of its popular MPV offering – Ertiga. The new generation Ertiga MPV has been spied testing on the Indian roads in the past. Moreover, it is also believed that the latest version of Ertiga could break covers at the upcoming Auto Expo 2018. Hyundai i20 Facelift: We previously reported that Hyundai India has commenced the testing phase of the new avatar of i20 premium hatchback. The premium hatch has been captured while testing in the past indicating its arrival at Delhi Auto Expo next year. The powertrain options on the new i20 facelift is expected to remain the same.
Tata Nexon AMT: Tata Motors recently launched the much awaited Nexon sub-compact SUV in the country . Priced at INR 5.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Tata Nexon is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. Offered with manual gearbox only, the company will be launching the AMT version soon. The powertrain options include 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel. Honda WR-V CVT: Honda Cars India launched Honda WR-V in India earlier this month in both petrol and diesel options. However, the CVT iteration is awaited to arrive in India soon. The crossover is based on the platform as that of Jazz hatchback which goes against the likes of Volkswagen Polo Cross, Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avventura among many others in its segment. It is offered in both petrol and diesel engines – 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel.
Honda Civic: Honda Civic was very much popular among the Indian consumer but failed to convert the enthusiasm into sales. Discontinued in the year 2012, the car maker has decided to reintroduce the model in the D-segment. The upcoming Honda Civic will be more premium and upmarket product from the Japanese car maker. Nissan X-Trail Hybrid: Nissan, a Japanese car brand is looking to introduce the new X-Trail SUV in a hybrid avatar. The arrival of X-Trail SUV was supposed to be in this year but the launch has been pushed to early next year. The carmaker showcased the X-Trail hybrid SUV at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo alongside Nissan GT-R. To be brought as CBU unit, the new Nissan X-Trail SUV is expected to be priced around INR 35 lakh (ex-showroom). Under the hood, the new version of X-Trail SUV will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol mill which will be mated to a 32kw electric motor.
Nissan Kicks: The Japanese automaker is aiming to launch an all-new compact SUV- Nissan Kicks in the country in next 2-3 years. It will first go on sale in the Brazilian market, followed by other nations including India. The SUV is based on the Nissan’s V-platform that also underpins the Micra and the Sunny sedan. It is likely to come as a replacement for the Terrano SUV, which failed to generate volumes for the maker. The SUV will be offered in two engine options- 1.5-litre dCi diesel and 1.6-litre 4-cylinder petrol. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Hyundai i20N: Foreseeing its competitor entering performance oriented hatchback segment and its popularity, Hyundai is planning to bring-in a powerful version of Elite i20 hatchback. Christened as i20 N Sport, the upcoming model will rival against the Maruti Baleno RS and the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI. Under the hood, it will be seen with a 1.4-litre petrol engine which can develop 114bhp of power along with 160Nm of torque. See More:
Maruti Ciaz 2018: In order to maintain its dominance in the mid-size sedan segment, Maruti Suzuki India is working on the facelift version of Ciaz which is expected to arrive in the Indian market by mid next year. Moreover, upcoming 2017 Ciaz facelift is speculated to be rolled-in through companys premium dealership NEXA. Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol: After marking its presence in the sub-compact SUV segment, countrys leading automaker is now looking to introduce the petrol derivative of Vitara Brezza. Introduction of petrol iteration is very much evident as the compact SUV has been in demand ever since its launch. The company has already received 1.72 lakh bookings till date with 60,000 units delivered. Under the hood, the petrol iteration will be powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series engine.
2017 Nissan Micra: Nissan, a popular Japanese car brand is currently focusing on the fifth generation Micra which is speculated to arrive in India by next year. Expected to be priced in the range of INR 6 INR 9 lakh, the new generation Micra was showcased at 2016 Paris motor show. For the global markets, the new Micra will be seen with range of diesel and petrol engines. However, no details have been revealed for the Indian market.

What’s more is that it is believed to feature Renault Duster’s 1.5-litre K9K turbocharged diesel engine under the skin. Power is expected to be sent to the wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.
