Skoda Auto India recently launched Skoda Kodiaq SUV in the country at INR 34.49 lakh (ex-showroom India). Ford India and Renault India are all geared up to roll out all-new Ford EcoSport and Renault Captur in India as both are scheduled to hit the domestic market soon. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki is also preparing itself to launch Celerio X in the market after the launch all-new S-Cross. Ford EcoSport Facelift: For keeping pace with the increasing competition in the compact SUV segment in India, Ford will provide its pick of the lot, the EcoSport with a mid-life facelift. Expected to launch next month, the updated version will get a modified front end along with a restyled cabin which is now to come with an increased premium feel and enhanced features. The engine specifications are expected to remain the same as the previous version. Maruti Suzuki Celerio X (Celerio Cross): Maruti Suzuki India will be rolling out a pseudo-crossover of its popular hatch – Celerio in the country soon. The car maker has already started taking pre-orders for the all-new Celerio X which will take on Mahindra KUV100. It will be powered by the same 998cc, K10B petrol engine which can make 67bhp and 90Nm of power figures. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual unit along with an AMT unit. Renault Captur: With the upcoming Renault Captur, the French automaker aims to capture the segment of premium compact SUVs in India. To be based on B0 platform, the Indian bound Captur has been unveiled by the car maker recently. The Crossover SUV will find its place above the Renault Duster, which itself is due a generation update. The Captur in the price bracket of INR 12 lakh to 15 lakh which will pose a direct competition to Hyundai Creta, Maruti S-Cross, Mahindra XUV500 and to a certain extent also in-front of the Tata Hexa & Jeep Compass. Mahindra KUV100 Facelift: Mahindra & Mahindra launched the all-new KUV100 in India last year. The mini compact SUV from Mahindra is now due for a facelift which is expected to launch in the country during this festive period. This Maruti Suzuki Ignis rival will continue to be offered on both petrol and diesel engine options and will be mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT units.
Volkswagen Passat: Volkswagen, a popular German is too gearing up to launch the updated Passat in India this festive season. The company will introduce the new Passat in both standard as well as hybrid avatars. The regular Passat will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that will develop 177 hp of max power. To be assembled at VW’s Aurangabad facility, the new Passat is expected to be priced in the price bracket of INR 32 – INR 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
