Upcoming Honda Cars in India in 2017-18; Honda HR-V, New-Gen Civic, CR-V & More
Upcoming Honda Car in India: Here is a list of upcoming Honda Cars to be launched in the Indian market during the year 2017-18 which includes new Honda HR-V, new-gen CR-V, all-new Honda Civic and more.
Honda Cars India has been on the roll for the year 2017 wherein the Japanese car maker launched its popular 2017 Honda City followed by all-new Honda WR-V in the domestic market. Both the new models have received good response from the domestic market as the company recorded 22 percent growth in the month of July, 2017. Maintaining strong sales momentum last month, Honda Cars India retailed 4854 units and 4894 units of Honda City and Honda WR-V respectively. Moreover, the company also launched the privilege edition of its popular premium hatchback – Honda Jazz with a price tag of INR 7.36 lakh making it the second model in privilege edition followed by Honda Amaze which was rolled out last month. The Japanese car maker is very much aggressive with its product strategy for its future products which are slated to launch in India during 2017-18. Honda WR-V CVT: After the successful launch of Honda WR-V in India, Honda has received good reason from the audience. As the company introduced only manual derivative of the crossover which indicates that Honda can introduce the CVT version of WR-V anytime soon. With less than a month, Honda Cars India has retailed over 3800 units of the Crossover which will assist the Japanese auto manufacturer achieve sales volumes. Under the hood, the WR-V is offered with a 1.2-litre VTEC petrol delivering 89bhp and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine options can produce 99bhp. As per the market speculations, it is believed that the company might introduce powerful 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol unit which will be mated to a CVT unit. Honda CR-V 2017: While the above two models will be coming to India by the close of this fiscal year, the new 2017 Honda CR-V will likely arrive at the tail end of the year. The 2017 Honda CR-V arrived internationally in 2016, and marks the beginning of the fifth generation of the car. The CR-V, for those unaware, was one of the first compact SUVs ever. The Compact SUVs have since gone on to become a major segment, even in India. The new 2017 Honda CR-V is sharper than the outgoing generation, but retains the same overall silhouette. Inside, the cabin of the CR-V has been thoroughly modernized with a single large touch-screen system. Overall, the 2017 Honda CR-V would mark a worthy and timely update to the Honda India stable. For now, India gets the fourth-gen Honda CR-V with two engines, a 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine delivering 154 bhp of power and 190 Nm of torque, and a 2.4-litre i-VTEC engine delivering 187 bhp of power and 226 Nm of torque. Honda Civic: Finally, we have the new seventh-generation Honda Civic, which could also come to India before the end of 2018. The last Civic in India was the fifth-generation model, and Honda India decided to cut the premium sedan from its stable after a lack of sales. But the Civic has since undergone two generation changes, with the latest one launching internationally in 2016. The Indian automotive market has also grown up, with a far greater audience craving for premium offerings. The Honda Civic could then make for an interesting and potentially successful addition to the Honda India line-up. The new Civic will come with a Fastback design and take on the likes of the Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla Altis when it does launch in India. Honda HR-V: As demand for SUVs increasing day-by-day in the Indian market, Honda might introduce its global SUV HRV in India. Filling up the space between BR-V and CR-V, the upcoming Honda HR-V will be based on Jazz platform that underpins Honda WR-V and updated City sedan. Initially showcased at 2013 Detroit Motor Show, the HRV SUV is expected to make Indian debut at Indian Auto Expo 2018. Likely to be seen with both petrol and diesel engines, the petrol unit is speculated to sport 1.5 litre, i-VTEC petrol engine while the diesel unit could see a 1.6 litre, i-DTEC oil burner.
