Upcoming Tata Cars 2015-16: After GenX Nano, Tata plans to launch two new cars this fiscal

In close talks with Mr. Mayank Pareek, President of Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, at the launch he revealed that apart from the GenX Nano Tata motors has two all-new cars in pipeline for this fiscal. Commenting on the same he said, “The GenX Nano was just a brand upgrade and there will be two more launches for this financial year.”

As for the upcoming cars we are putting our hopes on the all-new Tata Kite hatchback and the Kite compact sedan. The Kite has been among the most anticipated Tata cars in recent times and if everything falls into the right place, we can defiantly see the hatchback version reach the Indian roads by this festive season. As for its compact sedan sibling, it is likely to be launched anywhere between late 2015 – early 2016.

The Kite hatchback will be positioned under the Bolt and is speculated to replace the ageing Indica. Tata will be offering the Kite both in petrol and diesel guise. While the petrol unit could be the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre engine, the oil burner will most likely be the newly developed 1.5-litre turbocharged engine. Both manual and AMT transmission options could be on offer. As for the compact sedan it will share the engine specification and transmission option with the Kite hatchback.

Additionally Tata also plans to launch the Bolt Sports under an all-new premium brand. The car will be much more sporty and powerful and will come with a power figure of 120 BHP. Tata has managed to achieve a whooping 31 BHP more power than the regular Revotron engine of the Bolt. The engine will get added torque in addition to all that 120 BHP power while the gearbox will be upgraded to the Fiat sourced C501 unit seen in the Italian company’s MultiJet powered models.
