Audi AG is celebrating a unique social media milestone by showing off its very exciting Sport Quattro Concept in action. The carmaker’s Facebook page recently hit 100,000 likes in six months and as a way to thank its fans, the brand has released a new video showing the Sport Quattro Concept in all its glory.
Shown at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Sports Quattro Concept was built to celebrate the 30th birth anniversary of the legendary Sport Quattro – an all-wheel drive coupe which ruled the world of rallying in the 80s.
The Sport Quattro Concept is a high-performance plug-in hybrid vehicle with the hybrid system producing a total output of 700hp. There’s a 4-litre twin turbocharged V8 petrol engine paired to a 110 kW electric motor. True to RS tradition, power flows through an 8-speed tiptronic gearbox and then to the Quattro power-train. Performance is no less than ballistic with zero to 100kmph coming up in just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of over 300kmph. Sadly, we may never see it on public roads as Audi has no plans to make a production version.
