Volkswagen has launched the Cross Polo in India which is more of a more rugged version based on the standard Polo. Priced at Rs 7.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) the car is available with a 1.2-litre TDI engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox. The same engine also powers the standard Polo.

Design upgrades over the standard model include new ‘Cross’ front and rear bumpers, sturdy looking body cladding, silver painted mirrors and roof rails and 16-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin gets ‘Livon’ titanium black upholstery.

Commenting on the launch of the new Cross Polo, Mr. Arvind Saxena, Managing Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, said “The Polo is an important carline in the Indian portfolio and with ongoing updates we keep it relevant and exciting for our customers. The Cross Polo has been created for those looking at a premium hatchback in a sporty ‘crossover’ style.”
