Leading carmakers across the globe are more or less on recall spree. In March German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has initiated a recall 1,27,071 of its cars in China due to a possible fire risk and steering issues. The recall, which took effect from March 13, was issued after a sealing strip for the engine cabin was found coming loose in some vehicles, which could lead to an engine fire if the strip falls on hot engine parts. The affected vehicles were manufactured between 2012 and 2014. Mercedes-Benz China and Beijing Benz will check them and replace defective parts free of charge.
