The concept of this new Volkswagen Sports Coupe is bases on the company’s famous MQB platform and except for its height the Sport Coupe is larger than the VW CC in every other dimension. Measuring 4,869mm in length, 1,407mm in height and 1,864mm in width, Volkswagen Sport Coupe Concept GTE sports a longer 3,020mm wheelbase. Thus the interiors measure at 1,872mm long, resulting in increased space both in driver section and in the passenger area.

In terms of styling, the Sport Coupe comes with sharply designed set of twin headlamps underlined with bold chrome accents that amalgamate with a large radiator grille. It also receive a wide air-dam coupled with two very prominent, chrome-accented air-intakes one on each side. The elongated hood with sharp design lines furthermore gives the car an aggressive front fascia. Additional features include a sloping roofline and shiny 21-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels.

The design language is further extended to its interiors. The four-seat cabin is laden with a 12.3-inch, 3D digital displays unit dominated by the speedo and power meter instead of a conventional instrument cluster. The centre console gets 10.1-inch touchscreen unit and a 12.3-inch touchscreen digital control for passengers at the rear located between seats for entertainment. The VW GTE also uses biometric data from smartphones and watches to determine navigation, climate, music and light setting as per occupant’s mood.

Powering this bad-boy is a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 coupled with a pair of electric motors offering total output of 380 PS power and 500.2Nm of peek torque.  The transmission duties are carried out by a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The concept can do a 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 5.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 kmph. In pure electric mode, the Sports Coupe Concept GTE has a drive range of 50 kms while in combined mode of 1000 kms. Fuel efficiency stands at 2 liters/100 km.
