Previously Volkswagen had launched a slightly tuned up version of its executive sedan Jetta in 2014. The updates were trivial and limited to the cars mechanism with no changes made to the design. Whereas, the upcoming 2015 facelift will truly move the car upmarket with a number of comprehensive upgrades that will not only improve it looks but also offer better aerodynamics and improved engine performance.

In terms of exterior and design the new Volkswagen Jetta receives a Passat-like look on the front with optional bi-xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights. It also gets a new wider grille, which perfectly aligns with the headlamps creating the effect of one complete element. Moreover the 2015 Jetta gets a completely redesigned airdam that has not improved the aerodynamics of the car but also gives it exclusive fascia. The rear end sports some minor changes with a new trunk lid and redesigned tail lamps.

As for its interiors, Volkswagen has made some minor design tweaks. The 2015 version now gets some chromed treatment for the dash and gauges for the mid and top variant. The car also gets a new flat bottom multi-function steering wheel (similar to the one found on the new Polo), updated air vent controls and piano black accents.

Under the hood Volkswagen will be offering the new Jetta with the same engine option that are available in the current roll-outs but the diesel motor will be receiving some minor tweaks to improve performance. The 2015 Jetta will be powered by a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine, which will be churning out 152 PS of peep power, a whole 10 PS more than the previous engine. The petrol variant gets the same 1.8-litre TSI petrol motor with manual transmission. The diesel variant is also expected to come with automatic transmission.
