Volvo India launches new variants of the S60, S80 and XC60

All three models will come with the detuned D3 diesel engine in the Indian market.

Volvo India launches new variants of the S60, S80 and XC60

Volvo India have launched the 2012 variants of it models, the S60, S80 and XC60, which will now come equipped with the new detuned D3 2.0-litre turbo-charged diesel engine.

 

The top-end D3 variant of the S60 is priced at Rs 23.9 lakh, the S80 D3 variant is priced at Rs 31.9 lakh and the D3 variant of the XC60 is priced at Rs 33.9 lakh. The base variant of the S60 D3 Kinetic is being offered at Rs 23.2 lakh, the S80 D3 Kinetic is priced at Rs 31.2 lakh and the XC60 D3 Kinetic is priced at Rs 33.3 lakh.  (all prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi.)

The D5, five-cylinder turbo-charged diesel engine that powers the out-going models has been detuned to derive the D3 engine, which will be housed in the new 2012 variants. The D3 5-cylinder 2.0-litre turbo-charged engine will produce 163PS of max power and 400Nm of max torque. The engine will come mated to an automatic six-speed transmission with four-wheel drive system. The company is claiming fuel efficiency figures of 18.5kmpl for the S60, 17.8kmpl for the S80 and 14.7kmpl for the XC60 D3 variants.

 

All the three variants have also received cosmetic updates like dual tone leather seats, redesigned dashboard, electronic tailgate and Active Bi-Xenon bending headlamps.

It should be noted that the prices mentioned above all the three variants are part of the introductory offer, which will last until March 2012. Post, March the prices of the three variants will be bumped by up to Rs 70,000.
