Volvo India signs golfer Jeev Milkha Singh as its brand ambassador

The professional golfer will be seen driving Volvo’s flagship SUV, the XC90.

Swedish luxury carmaker Volvo has signed on Mr. Jeev Milkha Singh, one of India's most successful golfers, as its brand ambassador. With an aim to sell over 1200 cars in India in 2013, Volvo India is looking to strengthen its presence in the Indian luxury car market through this new endorsement.

Having won 2 Volvo Golf Tournaments internationally, Mr. Singh and Volvo share an enduring association since April 2006. The professional golfer will be seen driving Volvo’s flagship SUV – the XC90, as a part of the endorsement.    

Commenting on the association, Tomas Ernberg, MD Volvo Auto India said, “The association of Volvo Cars with Jeev Milkha Singh represent perfection and our continual growth. Volvo and Jeev share enduring association since April 2006, when he won the Volvo Master and became the second Indian player to win on the European Tour. As a part of this association Jeev will be driving our flagship Volvo XC90 that will also provide ample boot space for his all his Golf sets, in the safety and luxury of Volvo cars.”
