Mahindra Renames Next-Gen XUV700 as XUV 7XO, Global Launch on January 5, 2026
Mahindra announces its new premium SUV, the XUV 7XO, set for a world premiere on January 5, 2026. Built on the XUV700 platform, it will feature updated design, tech and performance.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has announced that its next major entry in the premium SUV segment will be called the XUV 7XO. The company confirmed that the vehicle will make its world premiere on January 5, 2026.
The XUV 7XO will follow the XUV700, a model that has had a significant presence in the Indian SUV market since its launch, with Mahindra reporting more than 300,000 units in operation over a period of a little more than four years. The new SUV is described by Mahindra as an evolution of the existing platform, with updates expected across design, technology, comfort, and performance.

The company indicated that the XUV 7XO is intended to continue its strategy in the premium SUV category, an area where Mahindra has sought to expand its footprint in recent years. While the manufacturer has highlighted that the vehicle builds on the architecture and capabilities of the XUV700, specific details about features, variants, or powertrain options have not yet been disclosed.

Additional information is expected at the global unveiling in January, during which Mahindra is likely to outline market positioning, technical specifications, and the rollout timeline for the new model.
