Mahindra to Set Up 250 Ultrafast EV Charging Stations by 2027

Mahindra has announced an ambitious expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure with plans to establish 250 ultrafast charging stations equipped with 180 kW chargers and over 1,000 individual charging points by 2027. This move is part of the company's larger Charge_IN network, aimed at supporting India's growing EV ecosystem and aligning with the government's push toward sustainable mobility.

The first two Charge_IN stations are already operational one at Hoskote on NH 75 (Bengaluru Chennai highway) and the other at Murthal on NH 44, approximately 50 km from Delhi. Each of these stations includes two 180 kW dual-gun chargers, enabling simultaneous fast charging for up to four electric vehicles. These locations mark the beginning of Mahindra's plan to create a robust, highway-focused fast-charging corridor across India.

According to Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO Automotive Division (M&M) and Executive Director (MEAL), this ultrafast charging rollout is designed to encourage wider EV adoption and enable seamless intercity travel for electric vehicle users.

The Charge_IN network will support Mahindra's upcoming eSUV lineup, including the XEV 9e, BE 6, and XEV 9S, all capable of charging from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes using these high-power chargers. All stations will be strategically placed along major national highways and paired with restaurants and caf s, giving long-distance travellers a convenient and comfortable charging experience.
