Back in May 2012, OnCars.in got hold of the very first exclusive pictures of the vehicle that is set to replace the iconic Maruti 800, the all-new 2012 Maruti Suzuki Alto 800. And as time passed, more and more details emerged and a couple of more spy shots were snagged across the country. And yet again today, some fresh images and information about the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 is floating on the Internet.
According to new information, the new Alto 800 will be positioned below the current Alto and will replace the aging Maruti 800 and is expected to carry a sub-Rs 2 lakh price tag. At that price point, the Alto 800 would have easily distanced itself from the current Alto K10 range by close to Rs 40,000 and inched closer to the Tata Nano territory.
Based on the current Alto platform, the new Alto 800 has been modified to offer more space and comfort and will be housed with the same 796cc three cylinder engine from the Alto, which has been tweaked so as to meet the emission norms.
