Iconic British car brand McLaren has reportedly that its upcoming baby supercar, codenamed ‘P13’ will hit the market in around two years’ time i.e. 2015.
According to a McLaren representative, the P13 will take the Woking-based carmaker into a lower price point and in the league of top-end versions of the Porsche 911 and the Audi R8. Though based around the same carbon-fibre monocoque as the MP4-12C and the P1, the upcoming P13 will boast of a shorter wheelbase for improved agility, less weight and a compact footprint. Power could come courtesy of a 3.8-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 (also found in the MP4-12C).
When launched, the P13 will be the third model to join McLaren’s existing range which includes the MP4-12C and the latest P1 hybrid supercar.
