New Maruti Swift Dzire 2017 is certainly one of the most awaited cars in the Indian market from the house of Maruti Suzuki India. After the roll out of Ignis and Baleno in India, the Japanese car maker seems to be preparing itself for the introduction of next generation Swift Dzire. Likely to launch in India anytime soon, the new Dzire sub-compact sedan has been spied couple of time with camouflage previously. However, the sedan yet again has been witnessed testing on Indian roads but with no camouflage revealing the design and angles. To be manufactured at Gujarat facility, it is believed that the production of the new-generation Dzire sedan has already commenced. Going by the rumors, it is also believed that company is also looking to ditch Swift name with the launch of new generation Dzire. As we previously informed you that the next-gen Swift Dzire will be based on all-new lightweight platform which also underpins Baleno premium hatchback, thus proffering increased fuel efficiency. The all-new Swift Dzire will sport major exterior design changes with mechanical front remaining untouched. On the exteriors, the sedan will carry all-new grille, new bumpers, projector headlamps, LED DRLs and much more. Inside the cabin, the overall design layout seems to be revised with inclusion of colour touch-screen infotainment system, colour LCD display as MID, multi-functional steering wheel and much more. The sub-compact sedan will be powered by the same engine options as seen on the current model. The petrol model will be seen carrying a 1.2-litre K-series petrol mill whereas the diesel version will be equipped with 1.3-litre DDiS oil burner. The petrol mill can easily generate 83bhp of power along with peak torque of 115Nm while the diesel unit will be tuned to churn out 74bhp and 190Nm of power figures. However, it is also speculated that the sedan will be equipped with all-new Suzuki diesel engine, however, there is no official confirmation about it. Once launched, the sedan will compete against the rivals such as Honda Amaze, upcoming Tata Tigor, Volkswagen Ameo, Hyundai Xcent, forthcoming Chevrolet Essentia and Ford Aspire. Lastly on the price point, the new Dzire sedan will be equipped with features and equipments, we speculate a price bump of approximately INR 60,000 to INR 70,000 as that of current model.
