After its launch in the 2009, the Nissan Micra has now been given its first facelift. Launched in Thailand a earlier this week, the refreshed Nissan Micra boasts of an aggressive front end – thanks to the new tapering design for the headlights and a bolder front bumper with chrome linings and new fog-lamps. The grille too has been given a makeover with a honeycomb mesh and a chrome-plated ‘V’ which is now the familial mandate on all upcoming Nissan cars – including the re-badged version of the Renault Duster.
At the back, the changes are minimal with a moderately redesigned bumper and new taillights which now feature an array of LEDs. Also new is the shade of bottle-green exterior colour that you see in the images here. The interiors have been given a refresh by way of a new centre console which is inspired by the unit in the Nissan Sunny and with its black-and-brushed-metal treatment, it also looks more premium that the outgoing unit.
The mechanicals have remained unchanged and expectedly so – since the 1.5-litre dCi oiler and the 1.2-litre petrol engine are doing a good job of achieving a balance between good fuel economy and a peppy performance.
