Ola Electric Rides into the Motorcycle Market with Roadster X Series

Bengaluru Ola Electric has launched its highly anticipated Roadster X series of electric motorcycles, marking its entry into the electric motorcycle segment. Starting at an introductory price of Rs 74,999, the Roadster X series aims to redefine motorcycling with advanced technology, impressive performance, and eco-friendly design.
Five variants comprise the Roadster X lineup, ranging from the base model at Rs 74,999 to the top-of-the-line Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh, priced at Rs 1,54,999. The X+ model, featuring the 4680 Bharat Cell, boasts an impressive range of 501 km on a single charge. Deliveries are expected to begin in mid-March 2025.
Innovation and Performance Take Center Stage
The Roadster X series showcases Ola's commitment to innovation. The motorcycles utilize mid-drive motors with integrated Motor Control Units (MCUs) for enhanced efficiency and performance. Industry-first features include patented brake-by-wire technology with single ABS and the use of flat cables for increased durability, reduced weight, and improved thermal performance.
The Roadster X is available in 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh variants, offering ranges of 140 km, 196 km, and 252 km, respectively. These models reach top speeds of up to 118 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in as little as 3.1 seconds (for higher variants). Riders can choose between Sports, Normal, and Eco modes, and a 4.3-inch LCD display with USB connectivity and smart features powered by MoveOS 5 enhances the user experience.
Roadster X+: The Flagship Model
The Roadster X+ is available in 4.5 kWh (Rs 1,04,999) and 9.1 kWh (Rs 1,54,999) options. Powered by an 11 kW motor, it achieves a top speed of 125 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.7 seconds. Its 501 km range (IDC) makes it ideal for long rides. The Roadster X+ also includes advanced digital features like energy insights, cruise control, and reverse mode.
Expanding Ola's EV Portfolio
This launch follows Ola Electric's recent Gen 3 portfolio launch, which includes the flagship S1 Pro+ and the budget-friendly S1 X range (Rs 69,999 - Rs 1,69,999). Ola also recently unveiled the Gig and S1 Z scooter ranges, starting at Rs 39,999, with deliveries planned for April and May 2025.
