Now that the P1 is out and creating waves in the supercar arena, McLaren seems to be focusing on a smaller, less preposterous model which could be out in the next two years. Codenamed the P13, this new baby supercar is said to be inspired by the P1 to take on the iconic Porsche 911, reports Auto Express.
Although based around the same carbon-fibre monocoque as the MP4-12C and the P1, the upcoming P13 will boast of a shorter wheelbase for improved agility, less weight and a compact footprint.
The mid-engine P13 could source its power from a 3.8-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 (also found in the MP4-12C). With close to 450PS of power, the P13 could prove be more than a match for base 911 versions.
