Renault Captur crossover appears in a new lengthy video

Renault’s latest contender for the lead in the crossover segment, the Captur has amassed quite bit of coverage. Having made its online debut right before the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the Captur has been officially launched in its home country France with prices starting from 15,500 euros, which accounts to nearly Rs 11 lakh in Indian rupee.

The top-spec variant, costing 22,700 euros, comes with a 90PS diesel engine mated to a 6-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. But for a crossover, the Captur makes do without an all-wheel drive system. Perhaps one of the selling points of the Captur is the way it looks. The crossover’s striking design is typical of Renault styling, and rounds off a complete package that offers up both the ruggedness of an SUV and the compact nature of a hatchback.

In terms of size, the Captur sits between the Renault Clio and the company’s premium hatchback offering, the Megane.
