Suzuki SX4 S-Cross facelift spotted testing with BMW-Style Camouflage: Global unveiling likely in 2016

Suzuki Motors, the Japanese arm of Maruti Suzuki India was reportedly spotted testing the 2016 facelift of its popular crossover SX4 S-Cross. Though the car was launched in India, as the S-Cross, less than a month ago, the global model has been in the market for quite some time now and apparently the carmakers has now decided to give it a facelift.

Suzuki SX4 S-Cross facelift spotted testing with BMW-Style Camouflage: Global unveiling likely in 2016

In terms of design the basic structure of the 2016 SX4 S-Cross largely remains the same but to keep the detailed aspects of the design hidden the carmaker has draped the car in BMW-inspired camouflage. The test mule you see in the image sports a BMW-style kidney grill that might make you wonder for a second if it’s the BMW X1. Having said that, have a better look at the car and you’ll see that the silhouette totally reveals the true identity of the car.

As for the new additional features the 2016 model comes with a redesigned headlamps, new sportier front bumper, restyled grille and brand new alloys. The rear section of the car sports a new tail lamp cluster with minor changes made to the tailgate and bumper.  The inside of the car on the other hand comes with a new touchscreen infotainment system, but apart from that the cabin largely remains unchanged.

Internally the new SX4 S-Cross will continue to be powered by the same 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol and diesel engines, both of which produce a maximum power of 120 PS and a peak torque of 156 Nm and 320 Nm respectively. We do not expect to see the new facelift making its way to India before late 2017, but even if it does find its way, the features are likely to vary.
