Tata Bolt, which will be available in petrol and diesel variants, is the second brand new vehicle from the company's stable after compact sedan Zest which was launched earlier this year. The new car comes with various features including anti-lock braking system (ABS) for improved braking efficiency and corner stability control (CSC).
Even though the hatchback has the essence of Tata Indica the Tata Bolt, which has been designed on the X1 platform, it is said to be a cumulative creation designed by the three Tata Motors design studios located in Pune (India), Coventry (UK), and Turin (Italy).
Under the hood the Tata Bolt packs a 1193cc 1.2-litre Revotron turbo-charged engine, which is tuned to generate 84bhp of power and a torque of 140Nm. In the diesel version we get a 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel motor that can generate 73bhp of power and peak torque of 190Nm. Both the engines will be mated with a five-speed manual gearbox.
