Tata Sierra sets a new India Book of Records milestone with 29.9 kmpl in a 12-hour NATRAX test, powered by Tata's 1.5L Hyperion petrol engine optimized for long runs.

The Tata Sierra has officially entered the India Book of Records after achieving an impressive 29.9 kmpl during a rigorous 12-hour fuel-efficiency test at the NATRAX facility in Indore. The test, conducted on November 30 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, involved continuous running with halts only for driver changes, ensuring a consistent and controlled evaluation of real-world efficiency. The record was verified the same day, surpassing the previous national benchmark for a continuous 12-hour run.

The vehicle used for the test was powered by Tata's advanced 1.5L Hyperion petrol engine, featuring upgraded combustion technology and friction-reduction systems. These enhancements are specifically engineered to support long-duration, high-efficiency performance qualities that were clearly demonstrated during the test.

Tata Motors' Chief Product Officer, Mohan Savarkar, expressed satisfaction with the achievement, stating that the result aligns with the performance expectations planned for the Hyperion engine platform. He added that the record reinforces Tata Motors' commitment to developing efficient and future-ready powertrain technologies.

This milestone strengthens the Sierra's reputation ahead of its market launch and highlights Tata's growing emphasis on efficiency, reliability, and engineering excellence.
