The latest iteration of the Toyota Corolla Altis is all set to receive its mid-life facelift in India. The 2017 iteration of this premium d-segment sedan will be making its debut in our country tomorrow. With this makeover, the Corolla Altis will receive a bunch of cosmetic changes alongside minor feature updates as well.
Up-front, the Toyota Corolla Altis 2017 will get a restyled front facia which now is to come with a bolder and quite a lot sharper looks. There are LED headlamps, a redesigned bumper while the air-dam has been extensively molded to provide a contemporary look. The rear facia has been tweaked as well and now gets restyled bumper and minor modifications in the form of LED treatment provided to the tail-lamps.
Step inside and one is to see that there are no major modifications done to the cabin of the Corolla Altis. That said, with the 2017 iteration, the Corolla is to receive improved cabin upholstery. The HVAC vents now get a new design while there is to be a new and bigger infotainment system to be equipped to the on the centre console. Not only this, Toyota says that they have worked extensively on reducing the noise and vibration levels by improving the cabin insulation. As far as the engine specification are concerned, the 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis is to receive the same set of engine as does the currently on sale model. The petrol unit is to be a 1.8-litre, 4-cylinde unit producing 138bhp along with 173Nm of peak torque. The diesel derivative on the other hand will be a 1.4-litre unit producing 87Bhp along with 205Nm of peak torque. The transmission responsibilities will be carried out by a 7-speed manual gearbox while there will also be a CVT automatic on offer but only with the petrol variant. Talking about the prices, the 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis is likely to fall in the price bracket of INR 13 to 18 lakh. By this it will compete against the likes of Hyundai Elantra, Chevrlet Cruze, Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Jetta.
