Launched in 2004, and continually developed since, the Triumph Rocket III stands among the most popular bikes across the globe known specifically for its massive power and aggression. Triumph calls it the Rocket for a reason, because at the slightest twist of the throttle the bike will launch like its namesake. What makes it so special? Well, for instance the bike is equipped with a beastly 2294 cc in-line triple, liquid-cooled engine as it churns out 148 PS of peek power and a deadly 221 Nm of peek torque at just 2750 rpm. Born from the biggest, baddest and meanest bike out there now comes the new Limited Edition 2015 Rocket X, which offers the ultimate ride and status. As said earlier Triumph will be producing only 500 units of this bad boy and each one will come with a numbered side panel and a billet aluminium name badge reading “Rocket X” mounted on the oil tank. What makes it all the more unique is that the bike comes finished in a premium high-gloss custom paint job by paint specialists 8-Ball. Moreover it will also sport a ‘grind’ effect race stripes that runs along the fuel tank and the fenders giving a special contrast to the black body and components, right from its exhaust to handlebars and mirrors.
Additionally features of the new Rocket X includes a small black wind screen above the signature twin headlight, black levers, black engine and black five-spoke aluminium alloy wheels touched up with a hand-painted silver pinstripe. Even the dual exhaust pipes have been coated with a high temperature resistant paint.
Under the belly the new limited edition Rocket X comes with the same 2.3-litre engine, which is solidly mounted in the frame and used as a stressed member. A huge 101.6mm bore fed by 12-valves is paired to a forged crankshaft, its sensors registering throttle position, engine speed and position, engine and air temp, air pressure, running gear, and road speed to give it that liveliness at the throttle. Even the chassis is the same twin-spined, tubular steel frame that houses the enormous engine. Despite of its size and weight, the Rocket III has always been quite easy to handle and the credit for that goes to the Kayaba suspension used both at the front and the rear.
The 2015 Rocket X Limited Edition is truly a bike that boosts your pride of ownership a few notches higher with its outstanding exclusivity. Internationally Triumph also offers its owners an unlimited mileage and two-year factory warranty to sweeten the deal. Though the price of limited edition Rocket X is yet to be announced, the current generation Rocket III is sold in Indian at INR 21.96 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
