He looks really disappointed, but has to walk back after a decent start.

Hasan Mahmud to Jake Weatherald, OUT! EDGED AND CAUGHT! Mahmud finally gets the reward for his disciplined bowling. He pushes it further away from the batter, on a fractionally fuller length. Jake Weatherald strides across to drive it on the rise into covers, but only manages a fat outside edge back to the keeper. Litton Das grabs the ball to his left. Australia are 45/1 as Weatherald's struggles come to an end. A bit unconvincing from the local lad and he shakes his head as he departs.

Ebadot Hossain to Marnus Labuschagne, OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Bangladesh are right on top now as Marnus falls cheaply. Never really got going. Ebadot does his trademark military-style salute as he claims his first wicket. Angled back in from a length outside off, and this one has Marnus in a proper tangle, squared up and stuck between bat and pad as he tries to defend. The edge flies low, shin high, and Shanto has to react sharply to his left at third slip, throwing himself to his left to complete the catch. The umpires are checking whether the ball carried all the way through to the Bangladeshi skipper and it is confirmed that it did. Snaffled well above the ground, in fact. Australia slip from 45/0 to 61/3.

Hasan Mahmud to Steve Smith, OUT! STRAIGHT UP AND CAUGHT! A thoroughly well-deserved five-for for Hasan Mahmud. His arms shoot up in delight, and he's instantly engulfed by a sea of teammates. Short and outside off, and there's movement down the pitch from Smith. He stays leg side of the ball, and goes for a flat-batted slap over the off side. He can't handle the bounce and fails to middle it. A thick top edge balloons high into the sky behind the stumps, where Litton lurks underneath and completes the simple catch. A valiant innings from Smith comes to an end as Australia slip down to 189/9.

Taskin Ahmed to Cameron Green, OUT! FANTASTIC CATCH! Bangladesh have their fourth wicket and are understandably cock-a-hoop. Green's stay is cut short and he throws his head back in disappointment. He looks to whip the incoming length ball away off his legs, but comes through the shot a touch too early, and loses the grip on his bottom hand and the ball pops up flat to the right of Mushfiqur Rahim, stationed at mid-wicket. The veteran stretches in that direction and completes a fine catch with both hands. High fives all round, and a genuinely united bowling effort from Bangladesh sees the opening session go their way in some style. And that's LUNCH on Day 1.

Ebadot Hossain to Alex Carey, OUT! CHOPPED ON! Ebadot on the spot. He has produced a ripper from heaven to dismiss Carey. Hits the hard length, outside off, Alex Carey with little footwork, tries to fence it to the off side, but the ball gates in and goes off the inside edge, crashing back onto the stumps. Hossain roars in delight as he picks up his second wicket. Australia are 129/5 as the 55-run stand comes to an end.

Taskin Ahmed to Beau Webster, OUT! BOWLED'EM! Peach of a delivery from Taskin and troubles multiply for Australia. On a back of a length, in line of the off stump. Just holds its line and goes straight on. Beau Webster plays inside the line to block and the ball just flirts with the outside edge before trimming the bail on the off stump. Dream sight for any pace bowler in cricket. The hosts have slipped down to 152/6 with Smith stranded at one end.

Hasan Mahmud to Pat Cummins, OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Hasan Mahmud strikes on his return to the attack. He bangs this into the pitch, well outside off, there to be hit. Pat Cummins throws the kitchen sink at it but the ball just bounces a bit more to catch the outside edge. It flies behind, where Litton Das makes no mistake. Australia are 172/7 now.

Hasan Mahmud to Mitchell Starc, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Hasan Mahmud has four to his name, and he has been absolutely fantastic with the ball. He bowls this with the seam up, lands this just back of a length and around off, gets it to shape away. Mitchell Starc has a push at it with hard hands, without moving his feet and gets a faint outside edge behind, where Litton Das takes another regulation catch. Australia are 176/8 now.

Hasan Mahmud to Nathan Lyon, OUT! CAUGHT! Mahmud, fittingly, wraps it up with a memorable six-wicket haul against a full-strength Australian side. He will cherish this for a long, long time. Banged short and outside off, Lyon looks to pull but only succeeds in skying it high into the air off the top edge. Tanzid Hasan from square leg gets underneath and pouches a comfortable catch. A united and disciplined showing with the ball from the tourists. Mahmud holds the ball aloft as he heads to the dressing room, with all the Bangladeshi players beaming with joy. AUSTRALIA ARE BOWLED OUT ON 198!

Mitchell Starc to Shadman Islam, OUT! CAUGHT! There's the first breakthrough for Australia through Starc. Pitched around middle and leg, on a fractionally fuller length. It lands and straightens up just enough for the batter's troubles. Shadman plays from the crease and tries to flick it across to the leg side, but closes the bat face very early. Ekes out a leading edge and the ball pops towards backward point where Lyon makes no mistake this time around. He dives forward and scoops the ball inches above the ground. Bangladesh are 36/1, trailing by 162 runs. Starc, with 434 scalps, now holds the record for the most Test wickets by a left-arm bowler, eclipsing Rangana Herath of Sri Lanka.

Nathan Lyon to Tanzid Hasan, OUT! CAUGHT! Nathan Lyon breaks through for Australia. Tanzid Hasan runs out of patience. Lyon offers flight, full and on off. Hasan stays rooted to the crease and swings at it, trying to take on the long off fielder. The bat turns a bit in his hand and he slices it in the air towards long off, where Mitchell Starc runs to his left and slides to take a good catch. His knee gets stuck in the turf, and a chunk of the grass comes out. Starc hobbles after completing the catch, and Australia will hope that it is nothing serious. Tanzid walks off to a standing ovation. End of a 93-run stand. Bangladesh are 231/3, leading by 33 runs.

Josh Hazlewood to Mominul Haque, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Tight lines from Josh Hazlewood force a lazy stroke from Mominul Haque and he departs agonisingly close to his half-century on 49. Good length, around off, Mominul Haque doesn't move his feet towards the line of the ball, stands his ground and just throws his bat at it. Gets a tad late, and that was enough to get an outside edge. It is easily taken to his left by Alex Carey. Bangladesh are 138 for 2 now, trailing by 60 runs.

Josh Hazlewood to Najmul Hossain Shanto, OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Josh Hazlewood strikes. He looks back worriedly at the umpire and asks if he is happy with where his foot was in terms of a possible no-ball. Gets the nod of approval, and that's that for Shanto. From around the wicket, pitched on a good length, in and around the off stump. Shanto has to play at it. Presents a straight bat, but the ball moves away enough with a bit of extra bounce. Gets an outside edge and it flies quickly to second slip, where Steve Smith gobbles it up. The 66-run stand has been broken. Bangladesh are now 297/4, leading by 99 runs.

Pat Cummins to Mushfiqur Rahim, OUT! TAKEN! Pat Cummins gets in on the act now. Indecision on the part of Mushfiqur Rahim, and that leads to his downfall. 3/11 off the last 24 balls as Bangladesh are now 6 down for 308 with a lead of 110 runs. Steve Smith claims his 218th catch in Tests, and he is now level with Joe Root for most catches in this format. Moving away in the air, on a good length. Rahim looks to play at it initially but then decides to leave the ball alone. He is late in doing so and leaves his bat hanging. It goes almost off the face of the bat to second slip, where Smith stretches his hands out to his right to take a fine catch.

Mitchell Starc to Litton Das, OUT! CAUGHT! Second success with the new ball for Australia as Starc and Smith combine again. Square leg was pushed back on the fence just before this ball, and perhaps Litton Das was expecting a short ball. Starc goes full with a wobble seam ball and pushes it across the right-hander. A loose shot by Litton as he pushes at the ball with hard hands away from his body. The ball leaves him with the angle to take the outside edge, and Steve Smith at second slip snaffles it to his right. Litton Das falls without troubling the scorers. Bangladesh are 306/5, leading by 108 runs.

Josh Hazlewood to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! That's a five-for for Hazlewood, and with it, he brings up 300 Test wickets. He becomes just the 9th Australian bowler in history to reach that landmark, joining an elite club that includes Shane Warne, Nathan Lyon, Glenn McGrath, Mitchell Starc, Dennis Lillee, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Johnson and Brett Lee. Coming to the ball, Josh bowls it around that nagging length, in the channel, shaping away from the batter. Mehidy Hasan Miraz does not move his feet at all and swings hard to hit this over covers but gets an outside edge that is taken well behind the stumps by Alex Carey to his right. A fighting knock of 65 comes to an end for Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Bangladesh are 418/9, leading by 220 runs.

Josh Hazlewood to Hasan Mahmud, OUT! LBW! Hazlewood provides a much-needed breakthrough for the Aussies and picks up his third wicket. He bowls it relatively fuller and in front of the stumps, with a little bit of deviation into the batter. Hasan's head falls over as he looks to push at it and gets beaten on the inside edge before being trapped in front with the ball hitting his back pad. A very confident appeal for LBW and up goes the finger once again. Mahmud walks towards his partner and sends it upstairs for a review. But this looked really plumb in front. Only height might be the issue here. UltraEdge shows a flat line, and Ball Tracking comes up with three reds, with the ball crashing into the middle and leg stumps. Bangladesh lose the review and at long last, a fine partnership comes to an end. Bangladesh are 354/7, leading by 156 runs.

Josh Hazlewood to Taijul Islam, OUT! EDGED AND CAUGHT! Well done, David Warner. Hang on, what? Turns out it was Warner offering his cricketing wisdom on air, suggesting that Hazlewood bowling around the wicket was making life a touch too comfortable for the left hander, and that going over the stumps instead would force the batter to actually play at the angle. Hazlewood duly obliges. Full, and shaping away from off at 130.1 kph, Taijul looks to flick across the line, but closes the bat face early and gets a thick leading edge that flies straight to gully, where Green crouches low and completes a smart reverse cup catch right in front of his eyes. You sense Green needed that for his confidence after dropping a catch on the last ball of day two. Bangladesh slip to 372 for 8, still leading by 174, and it's Test wicket number 299 for Hazlewood.

Josh Hazlewood to Ebadot Hossain, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! 6-wicket haul for Josh Hazlewood and BANGLADESH ARE BOWLED OUT ON 426 RUNS! They lead by 228 runs. Josh bowls it on the back of a length, around middle and off, Ebadot Hossain once again jumps back inside his crease to keeps it out but the ball straightens a tad and that's enough to catch an outside edge of Hossain's bat into Carey's gloves behind the stumps. 

Hasan Mahmud to Travis Head, OUT! CHOPPED ON! Hasan continues on his merry way, and that's his 8th wicket of this Test. Almost a carbon copy of Weatherald's dismissal earlier. A touch fuller than a length, just outside off, too close to cut really, but Head goes deep in the crease anyway and looks to carve it square through point. He would have been far better served driving that one on the front foot, and instead ends up chopping it back onto his own stumps off the inside edge. Head, clearly disappointed with himself, picks up the bail and places it gently back in the groove before trudging off toward the dressing room. A huge, huge blow for Australia here, Bangladesh firmly on top as the hosts slip to 37 for 2, still trailing by 191.

Hasan Mahmud to Jake Weatherald, OUT! CHOPPED ON! Success for Hasan and Bangladesh early on. Hasan peppers the hard length, keeping it on off, shaping it just a shade away from the batter. Jake Weatherald jumps up on his toes and looks to play the square cut but this was too close to cut. He ends up with an inside edge back onto the stumps. The bails get dislodged and Jake has to take the long walk back. Australia lose their first with just 4 on the board, trailing by 224 runs.

Taijul Islam to Marnus Labuschagne, OUT! TIMBER! Taijul Islam strikes gold with the wicket of Marnus Labuschagne. Slider, at a really quick pace, right under the bat of Marnus. He gets forward and looks for a flick but this was too full for that and he ends up yorking himself. The ball drifts in and goes past the inside edge and rattles the timber. Labuschagne was looking really good out there but has to walk off. Bangladesh’s spinners are finally into the wickets. Australia are 73 for 3. Trailing by another 155.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Steve Smith, OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! A wicket out of nowhere for Bangladesh, and just like that, the promising 49-run stand is cut short. An enormous breakthrough for the tourists and is this the game right here? Only time will tell. Miraz lets out an almighty roar, instantly engulfed by a wave of teammates, proof enough of just how big this wicket is. He tosses this one up with a touch of flight, full and around middle. Steve Smith is drawn onto the front foot, looking to flick into the leg side, but he is through the shot a fraction early and ends up chipping it back toward the bowler. Mehidy Hasan Miraz reacts sharply, flinging himself to his right off his own follow-through to complete a smart catch. Australia lose Smith at the most delicate of moments, slipping to 122/4, still trailing by 106.

Hasan Mahmud to Cameron Green, OUT! CHOPPED ON! TON AND DONE FOR GREEN! Hasan comes into the attack and provides the breakthrough that pushes Bangladesh around the finish line. He has his 9th wicket in this Test. And on a fairly decent batting track, this is an enormous effort. Good length, wide of off, Cameron Green gets down low looking to keep it out but takes an inside edge onto his own stumps, and the furniture goes flying. Hand on his waist, Green simply cannot believe it, and after a long, disbelieving stare down at the pitch, he turns and trudges off for a valiant 104. Australia now lead by 50 runs.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Alex Carey, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Beauty from Miraz and he breaks Carey's resistance. He was looking ropey so far, but runs out of luck. Miraz bowls the in-dipper, full and around the off pole. It lands, grips and turns away with bounce. But it forces Carey to draw the front foot out and play at with because of the angle. All he can manage is a faint outside edge back to the keeper. Sharp grab from Litton Das behind the stumps to his left and Bangladesh are up and about on Day 4 after being teased a couple of times. Australia are 178/5, trailing by 50 runs.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Beau Webster, OUT! BOWLED'EM! An absolute ripper from Miraz, and he's got three wickets to his name now. He's off on a celebratory sprint, and nothing's stopping him at this point. Quicker through the air this time, and pitching on a good length, it skids straight on without turning. Beau Webster goes back in his crease anticipating turn, but he ends up playing well inside the line looking to defend, and that's exactly why he misses it. The ball holds its line all the way, refusing to deviate or turn, beats the outside edge and clips the top of off stump on its way through. Webster is shell-shocked before he trudges off. Australia are 193/6, still trailing by 36 runs.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Pat Cummins, OUT! CAUGHT! Miraz gets another one this morning and Australia are 7 down for 207, trailing by 21 runs even now. Miraz bowls a top-spinner, wide of off, Pat Cummins presses onto his front foot to keep it out with a front foot block but gets it nicked off the inside edge towards short leg. Shadman Islam, who is under the lid there, makes no mistake and takes it nice and easy. Skipper of Australia, Pat Cummins departs on 8 off 32. 

Taskin Ahmed to Mitchell Starc, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Starc falls within 10 minutes of resumption and Australia are on the brink now. Taskin bowls it on a hard length, around off, shaping away from the batter. Mitchell Starc stays leg side to the line of the ball and has a poke at it away from his body. He barely moves his feet and gets an outside edge that is taken well behind the stumps by Litton Das. Starc, strangely, opts for the review, but starts his march back to the dressing room. UltraEdge presents a massive spike when the ball is next to the bat. The hosts lose the review. Australia are 250 for 8 and lead by 22 runs. 

Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Nathan Lyon, OUT! LBW! Miraz gets his 5-wicket haul and that will be the end of the Australian innings on 284 runs. Bangladesh will need 57 to get a win. Tossed up, around off, Nathan Lyon steps across and goes for a sweep behind square on leg but misses and gets hit plumb in front of the stumps on his front pad. A gentle appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Nathan Lyon opts for a review out of hope, probably.
