    Phil Salt c Anthony Mosca b Ali Hasan 28 15 2 2 186.67
    5.4
Ali Hasan to Phil Salt, OUT! CAUGHT! That's a fantastic catch by Anthony Mosca. Ali lets out a big roar as he gets a huge wicket. Hasan bashes the length hard, keeping it over middle. It lands and kicks up a bit, taking Salt by surprise as he lines up for the pull shot. Hits it nowhere near from the middle of the blade, in fact, it sails off the sticker of the manufacturer and he does not complete the followthrough of the bat swing. The ball dips in front of Anthony, stationed at deep square leg. He tracks the trajectory nicely and dives forward to scoop the ball. He does so, taking it cleanly, inches above the ground. Salt is hanging around, expecting the umpires to check the legality of the catch but the square leg umpire is convinced it is clean and gives Salt the matching orders. The 33-run stand is broken and England are 54/2 after 5.4 overs!
    Jos Buttler (W) c Harry Manenti b Grant Stewart 3 4 0 0 75
    2.1
Grant Stewart to Jos Buttler, OUT! CAUGHT! Stewart makes an instant impact. With 3 against Scotland, and an identical score this time around as well, Buttler's lean run in this T20 World Cup continues. Grant lands it around middle and off, with the seam positioned toward the first slip. It shapes away late on a fuller length. Jos Buttler tries to loft it downtown, but the bat turns at the point of contact while the ball spoons off the outer half toward mid off. Harry Manenti tracks back and takes a fine reverse cup catch. England are 21/1!
    Jacob Bethell c Jaspreet Singh b Benjamin Manenti 23 20 2 1 115
    7.3
Benjamin Manenti to Jacob Bethell, OUT! CAUGHT! Manenti strikes in his first over and England find themselves in a spot of bother yet again. As mentioned at the pitch report, playing the slogs and sweeps is like inviting trouble at this surface and that's exactly what has happened here. Benjamin Manenti keeps it full and in front of the middle stump, getting a bit of extra bounce from the surface. Jacob Bethell collapses his back knee to slog sweep it over deep square leg, but the extra bounce does him in. It flies off the top edge and Bethell fails to control the shot. It flies straight into the hands of Jaspreet Singh stationed at deep fine leg. England are 67/3.
    Tom Banton c Benjamin Manenti b Crishan Kalugamage 30 21 3 1 142.86
    12.4
Crishan Kalugamage to Tom Banton, OUT! CAUGHT! Another good catch in the outfield! Kalugamage should have had Curran on the previous ball but he does get a wicket in this over. A googly, outside off, short in length, Tom Banton rocks back and pulls it through mid-wicket. However, there is extra bounce and the ball goes off the top part of the bat. It goes towards deep mid-wicket where Benjamin Manenti comes forward a touch and takes it low above the ground! The well-set Banton departs as well and from 54/1, ENGLAND ARE NOW 105/5!
    Harry Brook (C) c Gian-Piero Meade b JJ Smuts 14 9 1 1 155.56
    10.3
JJ Smuts to Harry Brook, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Smuts gets the reward for bowling cunningly. After targeting the stumps in the previous couple of balls, he pushes it wide outside off, and offers a good bit of flight on this one, on a length. Harry Brook is forced to reach out, does not get to the pitch of the ball and throws the kitchen sink at it, trying to slash it through the off side, but only manages a faint outside edge. Gian-Piero Meade, the keeper, swiftly moves to his right and takes a fine catch. He appeals and the umpire raises his finger. Brook trudges off without reviewing and England are in trouble now with 92/4 on the board.
    Sam Curran c JJ Smuts b Crishan Kalugamage 25 19 0 2 131.58
    16.5
Crishan Kalugamage to Sam Curran, OUT! CAUGHT! The incorrect matchup actually works, as the leggie gets rid of the left hander. The quicker delivery, short in length, outside off, Sam Curran backs away to the leg side and looks to go over cover, but ends up hitting it straight to JJ Smuts at the edge of the circle. The 54-RUN STAND has been broken and Curran's cameo is cut short. ENGLAND ARE 159/6 AFTER 16.5 OVERS!
    Will Jacks not out 53 22 3 4 240.91
    Jamie Overton c Crishan Kalugamage b Grant Stewart 15 9 1 1 166.67
    19.3
Grant Stewart to Jamie Overton, OUT! CAUGHT! The wide yorker line results in a wicket. Just short of a yorker length, full and way wide outside off, Jamie Overton has to reach out for it, as he looks to carve this over point. He does connect, but does not have enough power from the bottom hand. The ball goes high in the air and Crishan Kalugamage takes it calmly at deep point. The 35-run stand is broken and ENGLAND ARE 194/7 AFTER 19.3 OVERS.

    Justin Mosca c Tom Banton b Adil Rashid 43 34 7 0 126.47
    14.3
Adil Rashid to Justin Mosca, OUT! TAKEN! Italy are just losing their way now. Adil Rashid bravely flights this up, full and on middle. Justin Mosca goes down on one knee to slog it down the ground but fails to get fully underneath it. He does not get the elevation and the ball flies straight down the throat of Tom Banton at long on, who makes no mistake. Both the set batters are gone now. 68 needed in 33 balls.
    Anthony Mosca c Harry Brook b Jofra Archer 0 1 0 0 0
    0.2
Jofra Archer to Anthony Mosca, OUT! TAKEN! Early strike from Jofra Archer. He bangs this into the pitch at 146 clicks, on off. Anthony Mosca decides to take him on straightaway and goes for the pull shot. However, the ball gets big on him and takes the top edge. It flies behind mid on, where Harry Brook turns back, sprints, keeps his eyes on the ball and takes a good catch over his right shoulder. A golden duck for Anthony Mosca after his fine knock against Nepal.
    JJ Smuts c Jamie Overton b Jofra Archer 0 4 0 0 0
    0.6
Jofra Archer to JJ Smuts, OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Double strike from Jofra Archer and he is loving life in Kolkata. This is a back-of-a-length delivery, in that channel outside off, shaping away with extra bounce. JJ Smuts stays back and pushes at it with hard hands but only manages to get a thick outside edge towards first slip, where Jamie Overton moves to his left to reverse cup it sharply above his head. Italy are 1/2, needing 202 runs in 114 balls.
    Harry Manenti (C) c Jos Buttler b Jamie Overton 12 11 1 1 109.09
    3.6
Jamie Overton to Harry Manenti, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! That is a stunning catch from Jos Buttler behind the stumps. Jamie Overton sees the batter move across to the off side, lands this on a shortish length and outside off. Harry Manenti shuffles across for the scoop but gets cramped up for the room and only manages to get it off the gloves. Buttler sees this and already moves to his left early. He times his jump to perfection and plucks it out of thin air with his outstretched right glove above his head, going across like a goalkeeper making a save. Italy are 22/3, chasing 203 runs.
    Benjamin Manenti c Tom Banton b Will Jacks 60 25 4 6 240
    11.6
Will Jacks to Benjamin Manenti, OUT! CAUGHT! Will Jacks has the last laugh and the Benjamin Manenti show is over here at the Gardens. This is slower through the air, full and outside off. Benjamin Manenti goes down and tries to drag it down the ground but this time gets no power on the shot as he hits it from the toe-end of the bat. It flies towards long on, where Tom Banton runs forward to take a fine catch just above the ground. Manenti walks back for a fantastic 60 off 25 and gets a rousing applause from the dugout and the crowd.
    Grant Stewart c Liam Dawson b Sam Curran 45 23 2 5 195.65
    18.5
Sam Curran to Grant Stewart, OUT! CAUGHT! Sam Curran is taking England to the Super 8, it seems and what a big wicket this is in the context of the game. Curran stays around the wicket and goes full and wide yet again, with pace-on. Grant Stewart hangs back and throws the hands at it but ends up slicing it off the outside edge. The ball goes quickly to the left of short third, where Liam Dawson moves across and takes a smart catch. Stewart's fighting knock of 45 off just 23 balls comes to an end.
    Marcus Campopiano c Tom Banton b Sam Curran 2 6 0 0 33.33
    15.4
Sam Curran to Marcus Campopiano, OUT! CAUGHT! Sam Curran switches to over the wicket and serves a high full toss over middle and leg. Marcus Campopiano hangs back and looks to belt it but gets it high on the bat. The ball sails down to the left of long on, where Tom Banton slides across and takes a fine catch. The batter is hanging around in hope of getting a No Ball call. It is actually confirmed quite quickly by the umpires and the delivery is deemed as a fair one.
    Gian-Piero Meade (W) c Jos Buttler b Sam Curran 0 1 0 0 0
    15.5
Sam Curran to Gian-Piero Meade, OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Not much of an appeal from Sam Curran but it doesn't matter as he is now on a hat-trick. Back to around the wicket, bowled on a good length and outside off, slower too. Gian-Piero Meade backs away to go over the off side but gets a faint edge through to the keeper. Jos Buttler pouches it and knows it straightaway and the umpire's finger also goes up.
    Jaspreet Singh c Will Jacks b Jamie Overton 12 10 0 1 120
    19.2
Jamie Overton to Jaspreet Singh, OUT! CAUGHT! England are now just one wicket away from the win. Jamie Overton serves it back of a length and over the stumps. Jaspreet Singh backs away to take it on but is undone by the extra bounce. Jaspreet ends up slashing it high up in the air towards the short cover region. Will Jacks comes in from the edge of the circle and goes down on one knee to take the catch.
    Crishan Kalugamage not out 0 1 0 0 0
    Ali Hasan b Jamie Overton 0 4 0 0 0
    19.6
Jamie Overton to Ali Hasan, OUT! TIMBER! Jamie Overton finishes proceedings in style with the ball and England qualify for the Super 8 stage. Overton knows what's coming from Ali Hasan and goes full and straight. Hasan backs away, trying to drive but is beaten for a third ball in a row and this time, he hears the death rattle behind him as well. Overton ends with a double-wicket maiden and ENGLAND WIN BY 24 RUNS!
