Ajaz Patel to Abdullah Shafique, OUT! STUMPED! Early success for the Kiwis. This is beautiful bowling from Ajaz Patel. He immediately got into the rhythm. A couple of great deliveries beat the bat of Abdullah Shafique and Ajaz smartly drags his length a bit back on the third delivery and keeps it just around off. Shafique tries to use his feet to smother the spin but fails to reach the pitch of the ball. He tries to defend but again the ball spins past his blade and Tom Blundell wastes no time in flicking the bails off. Outstanding flight and length of the ball there and Abdullah Shafique was completely at sea.

Michael Bracewell to Imam-ul-Haq, OUT! CAUGHT! Are Pakistan trying to emulate 'Bazball'? If they are, somebody should tell them that they are failing miserably. Yet another questionable shot selection. Flighted delivery, full and on middle, Imam skips down to heave it across the line but gets it away from the outer portion of his blade. The ball flies towards mid off where Tim Southee is ready to gulp it in his safe hands. Trying to be over-aggressive against the spinners is costing Pakistan at the moment. They are 48 for 3 which could have been four had Babar been caught on the third ball of this over.

Michael Bracewell to Shan Masood, OUT! ANOTHER STUMPING! Hard to understand what Shan Masood was trying to do since his arrival at the crease. It's spinning and he was looking to use his feet to smother the spin but premeditation in charging the bowler is never a good idea, especially so early in the innings. Michael Bracewell sticks to his line just outside off and offers a good flight to his delivery. Shan Masood runs down the track to heave it across the line but the ball spins away to beat his bat. Just like Abdullah Shafique, Shan was also nowhere near the pitch of the delivery. Tom Blundell is once again alert with his glovework. Poor from Pakistan. The approach is questionable.

Tim Southee to Babar Azam, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Early success for New Zealand and they have netted the big fish. Babar Azam departs without adding anything to his overnight score. A lazy attempt from him. He kept his patience on the last two deliveries but goes for a waft at the third one. Southee has served it on a good length outside off at 127.4 clicks. To be honest, it's quite a harmless delivery, could have been easily left alone but the Pakistan skipper throws his hands at it and nicks it behind. Maybe, the scrambled seam offered Tim some extra lift from the pitch. Tom Blundell does the rest and New Zealand have an opening early in the day.

Tim Southee to Saud Shakeel, OUT! CAUGHT! Another blow to Pakistan. Tim Southee strikes at the stroke of Lunch and it's yet another loose attempt from a Pakistan batter. This one is fuller and outside off at 132.6 kph, it moves away a tad at the last moment. Saud Shakeel looks to drive it but hits it uppishly towards Henry Nicholls at gully. He takes a comfortable catch and Pakistan lose their fourth wicket. Smart move from the skipper to bring himself on and also his strategy to get the batter driving pays off.

Ajaz Patel gives some extra pace on this delivery, serves it at 91.6 kph and gets it to drift in around off. Sarfaraz Ahmed looks to drive this full ball with hard hands but all he manages is an outside edge. It goes quickly to Daryl Mitchell at first slip who takes a good low catch. The umpires get together to check whether it's a clean catch and refer it upstairs. The replays find that all is good and Sarfaraz Ahmed has to depart after a 196-run stand with Babar Azam.

Kamran Ghulam (sub) moves across to his right from first slip and takes the simplest of catches. Latham is disappointed on his way back. New Zealand trail by 207 runs. The replays show that after brushing the gloves, it took Tom's forearm as well and that's why the ball ballooned more.

The finger stays down as they appeal and Pakistan take the referral. Perhaps turning too much there! UltraEdge takes some time to load. It shows that there is some murmur when the ball is close to the inside edge of the bat. The third umpire spends some time on it and then finds out that there is a tiny gap between the bat and ball. So no bat is involved. Ball Tracking goes on to suggest that it's hitting the stumps. The on-field decision is reversed and Conway departs, missing out on his hundred. A great review from Pakistan.

Tom Blundell and Kane Williamson have a chat and then the former walks back. Only an inside edge could have saved him which was absent. The 90-run stand is broken. New Zealand trail by 11 runs. The UltraEdge, later on, shows that it's touch and go and there could have been an inside edge before it hit the back pad. New Zealand will feel that Tom should have reviewed the decision.

The third wicket goes down for Pakistan after Lunch and they are staring down the barrel. Ish Sodhi has a fifer and he has made his comeback to this format memorable. Hurls across a well-disguised googly, lands it on the rough outside off, Imam-ul-Haq skips down the track, looking to flick it away but the ball spins away from his bat with some extra bounce. It's a great take from Tom Blundell to his left as he stretches his arms sideways and then breaks the stumps to find Imam short of the crease. Pakistan's inning has nosedived after Lunch and they are now effectively 32 for 7. Imam is frustrated on his way to the dressing room and is seen hitting a chair with his bat.
