Abdullah Shafique lbw b Jack Leach 8 18 2 0 44.44
5.2
Jack Leach to Abdullah Shafique, A LOUD SHOUT AND GIVEN! Abdullah Shafique reviews just in time! Seems out though. OUT! The ball is clipping the leg pole and it remains umpire's call! Abdullah Shafique has to walk back and England strike early. Leach provides the breakthrough for them! This is angled into the pads. It lands and straightens just a touch. Abdullah Shafique plays outside the line. He misses and it hits his pad. A loud shout and the finger is raised. Pakistan though do not lose the review.
Shan Masood c Jack Leach b Mark Wood 30 37 5 0 81.08
12.3
Mark Wood to Shan Masood, OUT! TAKEN! Mark Wood gets Shan Masood! He has been bounced out. Masood was playing the short ball so well. He looks to pull again but this time fails to get on top of the bounce. This flies off the top edge and goes towards a very fine fine leg. Jack Leach takes it easily. Masood walks back after getting off to a start. He was looking good but now falls.
Azhar Ali c Ben Foakes b Ollie Robinson 45 68 6 0 66.18
25.2
Ollie Robinson to Azhar Ali, Has that been taken? Foakes is sure but the soft signal is NOT OUT! ULTRA EDGE SHOWS A SPIKE! By the initial replays, it seems like it has carried. OUT! That is indeed a clean catch and England have a wicket at the stroke of Lunch. The short ball works again. This is on the body, Ali looks to pull, it goes off the glove and towards Foakes who dives forward and takes it. There is an appeal. The umpire is not sure if it carried or not and has a word with his partner. Replays show that it has. Yet another Pakistan batter walks back after getting off to a start. THAT WILL BE LUNCH!
Babar Azam (C) run out (Harry Brook / Ben Foakes) 78 123 9 0 63.41
58.6
Rehan Ahmed to Agha Salman, OUT! AZAM IS RUN OUT! Big, big moment in the game. Flatter and on middle, nudged to the right of square leg. Salman calls for a quick single and Azam is hesitant at first but then runs across. The fielder picks up and throws it to Foakes, the keeper who had to collect on the other side of the stumps. He runs, picks one-handedly and whips the bails off. Babar looked short and the replay confirms but it also shows that Foakes' other hand nudged the bails first, eventually though one bail came off but he managed to remove the other bail quickly with the ball in hand. Harry Brook with some excellent fielding, Ben Foakes with a wonderful piece of keeping.
Saud Shakeel c Ollie Pope b Rehan Ahmed 23 58 3 0 39.66
41.6
Rehan Ahmed to Saud Shakeel, OUT! THAT IS A CLEAN CATCH! That is a superb take from Pope! Rehan Ahmed gets his first Test wicket! A proud, proud moment for him and it is an important wicket as this stand was going along really well. Excellent bowling too. He bowled the googly on the last ball which beat the bat, this time it is the leg spinner, it lands outside off and turns back in nicely. Shakeel looks to defend but it goes off the inside edge, hits the pad and then lobs on the pitch. Pope towards the end, dives forward and takes it with one hand inches above the ground. England appeal but the umpire asks them to wait. He walks to his partner and then takes it upstairs after a chat. Soft signal is OUT! Replays show that is a clean catch. England yet again manage to pick a wicket just as the game was drifting away.
Mohammad Rizwan (W) c Ben Stokes b Joe Root 19 24 3 0 79.17
48.6
Joe Root to Mohammad Rizwan, OUT! TAKEN! Rizwan has given away his wicket here! Really gifted it away! Root serves it very full and around off. Rizwan comes down the track and converts into a full toss but ends up miscuing his heave high and wide of mid on. Ben Stokes there runs to his right and back to take the catch. He is laughing and enjoying as he knows that was a nothing ball really but Rizwan has made a big meal of it.
Agha Salman st Ben Foakes b Jack Leach 56 93 6 0 60.22
78.3
Jack Leach to Agha Salman, OUT! STUMPED! Just at the stroke of Stumps, Leach strikes and it is the wicket of Salman. Leach tosses it up, angling around off, and then spins away. Salman comes down the track to heave only to miss and Ben Foakes who is having a good day behind the stumps, clips the bails off. A fine knock from Salman comes to an end.
Faheem Ashraf lbw b Rehan Ahmed 4 23 1 0 17.39
66.3
Rehan Ahmed to Faheem Ashraf, OUT! LBW! Absolutely wonderful delivery from Ahmed but Ashraf takes the review. That looks plumb in the replay. No bat there clearly. Ball Tracking shows THREE REDS and the debutant gets his second wicket. Rehan Ahmed has been bowling from the start of this session but looks full of energy and is getting his rewards. A peach of a delivery this. He bowls from 'round the wicket, full and around middle, spins away after angling in. Ashraf tries to defend on the front foot but gets beaten on the outside edge, it stays low as well. Eventually, it turns out to be plumbed out.
Nauman Ali c Ben Stokes b Jack Leach 20 24 3 0 83.33
74.5
Jack Leach to Nauman Ali, OUT! TAKEN! Finally, the stand is broken! Ali goes after playing a handy cameo. Tossed up on off, bowls a bit slow and makes it to turn in. Ali looks to slog-sweep but gets a top edge high and straight down. Ben Stokes from mid off runs across and takes a simple catch.
Mohammad Wasim not out 8 7 0 1 114.29
Abrar Ahmed b Jack Leach 4 3 1 0 133.33
78.6
Jack Leach to Abrar Ahmed, OUT! BOWLED! Through the defense! Abrar Ahmed is surprised as this one goes through. Tossed up, slanting on middle. Ahmed lunges forward to defend but this goes past him and hits the stumps. A really good spell from Leach. Pakistan are bowled out for 304.

England innings

Batting R B 4s 6s SR
Zak Crawley lbw b Abrar Ahmed 0 5 0 0 0
0.5
Abrar Ahmed to Zak Crawley, OUT! LBW! Abrar Ahmed gets Crawley. The batter has a chat with Duckett but is asked to walk back. What a delivery from Ahmed. He cannot do anything wrong! Flatter ball, angling around off before spinning away. Zak Crawley didn't read the spin and rather getting on the front foot, went back. He gets pinned on the back pad, plumb, an appeal follows for LBW and up goes the finger. Just what Pakistan needed.
Ben Duckett lbw b Nauman Ali 26 37 1 1 70.27
13.2
Nauman Ali to Ben Duckett, OUT! LBW! That looked absolutely plumb but Duckett takes a review. However, even he is not fully convinced. Finally, the pitch helps the spinners here. This one lands outside off and spins in sharply. Duckett goes on the back foot to flick but misses and gets pinged on the pads. An appeal for LBW and up goes the finger. The Ball Tracking shows the impact is umpire's call while the wickets are hitting. Review retained but Duckett's time is over.
Ollie Pope b Abrar Ahmed 51 64 4 0 79.69
22.2
Abrar Ahmed to Ollie Pope, OUT! TIMBER! Fifty and out for Pope! A gem of a delivery for Ahmed! He has been going for runs but his discipline has rewarded him a wicket. Lovely delivery! Angles a flat ball on middle and makes it to turn away. Pope prods to defend inside the line but gets beaten on the outside edge and the ball goes onto hit the off stump. Second wicket for Abrar Ahmed.
Joe Root c Agha Salman b Nauman Ali 0 1 0 0 0
13.3
Nauman Ali to Joe Root, OUT! EDGED AND GONE! GOLDEN DUCK FOR ROOT! Ali with a lovely delivery yet again! This is tossed up, outside off, spins in. Root is drawn forward to defend but gets an outside edge to first slip where Agha Salman gets low to his left and takes a sharp catch. That looked clear but the umpire just wants to confirm as they take it upstairs. The soft signal is out and it stays the same as that was lucid from Salman.
Harry Brook lbw b Mohammad Wasim 111 150 8 3 74
64.2
Mohammad Wasim to Harry Brook, OUT! THAT IS PLUMB! First Test wicket for Mohammad Wasim and what a time to get it! These two were taking the game away from Pakistan but they have struck gold now! This is on a length and around off, This one jags back in. Harry Brook looks to defend but is misses. He is done in by the moment and gets hit on the pads. An appeal and the finger is raised. Brook starts walking back but then is reminded of the review. Too late though but that looked plumb. A top knock from Brook. Pakistan will hope that opens the floodgates.
Ben Stokes (C) run out (Azhar Ali / Mohammad Wasim) 26 33 4 0 78.79
32.5
Mohammad Wasim to Harry Brook, OUT! IT IS STOKES WHO HAS TO WALK BACK! Massive confusion and this is the only way this pair could have been broken! The two were looking at so much ease and this is a disastrous start for the visitors after the break. Have to say, it was Brook who was at fault here. This is a full ball, he clips it through mid-wicket. Ali does really well. He makes a lot of ground to his left, dives and pushes it back in. The batters have ran two till then. Both start off for the third but Brook turns back from halfway. Stokes keeps on running. Ali throws it to the bowler who makes no mistake in collecting it and then knocks the bails off. They do go upstairs to check if the stop is clean first which is fine and then who is the one who is run out and replays show it is Stokes! He shows the thumps up to Brook as he walks back which is a good gesture but pretty sure he will be fuming from within. Both Stokes and Azam have been run out in this game so far. Pakistan's 304 nnow looks far away.
Ben Foakes (W) c Abdullah Shafique b Nauman Ali 64 121 6 0 52.89
76.2
Nauman Ali to Ben Foakes, OUT! TAKEN! The last recognized batter is out of here! Clever bowling from Nauman Ali who has 4. This is tossed up slow and wide outside off. Foakes steps out and looks to go over mid on. It goes more off the toe-end and it is taken by Abdullah Shafique. A superb knock from Ben Foakes! He was looking to up the ante as there are not many batters left and falls in the process.
Rehan Ahmed c Saud Shakeel b Nauman Ali 1 3 0 0 33.33
65.2
Nauman Ali to Rehan Ahmed, OUT! TAKEN! That is a sharp catch from Saud Shakeel and Rehan Ahmed first innings does not last for long. He steps out, does not get to the pitch of it as Nauman slows it up. He still swings, it goes off the inner half towards mid-wicket. The fielder takes a sharp catch there. England still 39 runs away.
Mark Wood c Abdullah Shafique b Abrar Ahmed 35 41 4 0 85.37
75.2
Abrar Ahmed to Mark Wood, OUT! TAKEN! That is a superb catch! The celebration is not too fancy as they know this partnership has given England the edge! Mark Wood steps out, he gets a little too close to the pitch of the ball and whips it. It seems like it will clear mid-wicket but Abdullah Shafique leaps and plucks it out of thin air. Wood has done his job though.
Ollie Robinson b Abrar Ahmed 29 20 5 0 145
81.4
Abrar Ahmed to Ollie Robinson, OUT! TIMBER! That is the end of the innings! Flatter and on off, this lands and turns back in. Ollie Robinson looks to push at it but misses and it hits the off pole. ENGLAND HAVE BEEN BOWLED OUT FOR 354!

Abdullah Shafique lbw b Jack Leach 26 54 4 0 48.15
17.1
Jack Leach to Abdullah Shafique, OUT! LBW! Worth a shout and the finger goes up. Shafique walks to his partner but eventually doesn't review. Jack Leach gets his third wicket in no time. Pakistan is a bit of trouble. Leach with his orthodox full delivery, this lands around middle and skids through. Shafique strides forward to defend but gets beaten on the inside edge and gets his on the pads. An appeal and up goes the finger. Pakistan losing their grip here.
Shan Masood b Jack Leach 24 43 3 1 55.81
15.2
Jack Leach to Shan Masood, OUT! BOWLED! England have their first wicket. A much needed one! This is full and well outside off, it lands and spins in sharply. Masood goes for the reverse hit but only gets a bottom edge and drags it back onto the stumps. He could have avoided but played a lot straighter as he was batting so nicely but has to go now.
Azhar Ali b Jack Leach 0 4 0 0 0
15.6
Jack Leach to Azhar Ali, OUT! BOWLED! Ohh dear, not how Azhar Ali would have wanted to end his career. He goes on a duck. Ali is a bit of surprised as the ball goes past him. Leach floats it full and angling on leg, it turns very late. Ali shuffles across to flick it but misses and the ball goes past his bat and hit the stumps. The English players are quick to give a pat on his back. The Pakistani players give him a guard of honor as he walks back. A fantastic career comes to an end.
Babar Azam (C) c Ollie Pope b Rehan Ahmed 54 104 6 0 51.92
52.6
Rehan Ahmed to Babar Azam, OUT! CAUGHT! That is a sharp catch! Azam can't believe what just happened! He falls shortly after getting to his fifty and Rehan gets the big fish. Not the best delivery he has bowled but he won't care! This is short and on middle, Azam pulls it very hard but straight to mid-wicket where Pope takes a sharp catch. England now well and truly back in it. This stand was starting to worry them big time. Pakistan are effectively 114 for 4.
Saud Shakeel c Jack Leach b Rehan Ahmed 53 133 6 0 39.85
58.4
Rehan Ahmed to Saud Shakeel, OUT! TOP EDGE AND TAKEN! That is another wicket for Rehan Ahmed and he has turned the game around in his side's favor completely. Pakistan are effectively 127 for 6. Rehan Ahmed to Mohammad Rizwan, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Rehan Ahmed, he got Azam before this and now Rizwan. Pakistan in huge trouble now. Another low score for Rizwan. An appeal but the umpire has not given his decision yet but Rizwan starts walking back.
Agha Salman c Harry Brook b Rehan Ahmed 21 50 1 0 42
74.5
Rehan Ahmed to Agha Salman, OUT! TAKEN! Fifer for Rehan Ahmed! What a moment for him! He was introduced into the attack late but has done brilliantly. His dad is a very happy man in the crowd. This is on middle, Agha Salman looks to play the slog sweep, it goes off the top edge and lands in the safe hands of Brook! Pakistan have been bowled out for 216!
Faheem Ashraf c Ben Foakes b Joe Root 1 5 0 0 20
61.1
Joe Root to Faheem Ashraf, OUT! TAKEN! Another one bites the dust and England are into the bowling all-rounders now! This is tossed up outside off, it lands and turns away. Faheem looks to drive, it takes the outside edge and the keeper does the rest. England all over Pakistan now.
Nauman Ali lbw b Mark Wood 15 37 2 0 40.54
71.2
Mark Wood to Nauman Ali, A HUGE APPEAL BUT TURNED DOWN! England review. Seems close! OUT! Three reds and England break the stand that was starting to frustrate them. Wood it is who does the trick!
