Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for Class 6 in 2026 will be conducted on December 13, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
The duration of the entrance test is 2 hours. There will be 80 questions in the paper which is of objective type with a total of 100 marks.

How to download the admit card?
The process to download the hall ticket is simple. Follow the steps below:
What to expect on exam day
As the hall tickets have been released, now is the time for students and parents to go through the instructions on the day of the exam which is mentioned on the admit card. As the test will be of objective type, it will have three sections of objective questions. The format of the exam as well as the time schedule has been shared by the NVS for a smooth conduction of the exam.
In addition to this, the candidates must carry a valid photo ID proof along with the printed admit card. Reporting to the exam centre well in advance, checking the reporting time and centre address in advance, checking the availability of all necessary materials will help the candidates avoid last-minute tension.
What’s next?
As per the notice, JNVST 2026 results are expected to be released by March end 2026 for “Summer-bound” JNVs and by May 2026 for “Winter-bound” JNVs.
After this, the selected students will be admitted and join the system of residential schooling under the Navodaya scheme.
Why this matters?
Navodaya Vidyalaya scheme has been the flagship scheme of the Government of India for providing quality residential schooling to meritorious rural children since a long time. The timely release of the admit cards is good as now the candidates will have enough time to sort out the logistics, go through the syllabus, and practice under timed conditions before the test date of December 13.
In a nutshell, the admit cards have been released and with this, the candidates should download the admit cards, verify it as soon as possible, and plan well for the test day by familiarising themselves with the exam format. The countdown to JNVST 2026 has begun.
