6 new AIIMS and 25 Medical Colleges will be set up in Uttar Pradesh by Yogi Adityanath government. The establishment of AIIMS and medical colleges was one of the promises, which were made by Bhartiya Janta Party at the time of assembly polls. The work has been started on the commitment made by the government. As per Mr Ashutosh Tondon Gopalji, the proposal will be sent to the Centre once the area of the establishment will be finalised by the UP Government.
Keeping in mind prevailing population and to cater its need, it is high time to set up medical colleges and All India Medical Institutes. They will strive to get the institutes ready in upcoming 5 years. Apart from this, the government will also focus on filling up the teaching posts in Engineering Colleges considering the quality of education, which is being imparted to the students presently. UP government is also planning to organise the job fairs for the students of management and engineering for getting job opportunities in the competitive market. On students facing problems in finding job opportunities after pursuing courses in these institutions, Tondon said, “Once quality is ensured, the students will also be able to get good jobs in the market.”
At present, there are more than 600 private and 13 government engineering colleges in the state. The minister said besides free WiFi on college campuses, the government will set up e-libraries to keep students abreast of the latest developments. Among other steps to be taken in the education sector, he said that infrastructure of polytechnic institutes will be bolstered and all their students will be provided hostel facilities.
