As per Seventh Pay Commission, 14.27 percent hike will be provided in the basic pay including 138.71 per cent hike in housing allowance (HRA) and 49.79 per cent for other allowances. The Pay Commission also recommended doing away with 53 of the 196 allowances the government employees get besides moderation in several others. Still, the overall hike in allowances is expected to add a burden of Rs 29,300 crore (Rs 17,200 crore under HRA and Rs 12,100 crore under other allowances) in the current fiscal, estimated the Pay Commission. This main reason behind joining public sector bank is job security, improving prospects of PSUs and problems faced by the private sector, especially in the sectors like telecom, real estate, power and other infrastructure. As per budget introduced by our Finance Minister, Mr Arun Jaitely, the central government will bring 2.83 lakh jobs vacancies, which estimated to be generated by next year. As per the budget documents, the workforce of the central government establishments would be 35.67 lakh in 2018, about 2.83 lakh more than the actual head count of 32.84 lakh in 2016.
