IAS Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan is one of the most famous civil servants of India. He obtained the All India Rank(AIR) 2nd in 2015. He cleared the prestigious exam in his second attempt. Khan frequently draws media attention because of his private life. He married fellow IAS officer Tina Dabi, whom he had met earlier in their IAS training.

In the UPSC exam, Tina secured AIR 1, and Athar came second in the UPSC exam. In 2021, the couple decided to divorce. Later, Athar got married to Mehreen Qazi, who worked at the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre located in New Delhi.

Khan, who hails from Devipora-Mattan village in Anantnag district, 60 km south of Srinagar, obtained an All India Rank(AIR) of 2nd in the year 2015. The son of a school teacher, Athar, also got into the Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), but he refused as he was offered a B-Tech course while he wanted to study BE. Which optional subject did IAS Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan choose?

As far as his schooling is concerned, Athar Aamir Khan studied at several schools, including Biscoe School and Tyndale Biscoe School in Srinagar, Evergreen Public School, and Iqbal Memorial Institute in Anantnag. It is to be noted that Khan completed Class 11th and 12th from Tyndale Biscoe School in Srinagar. After completing training, Khan was posted to the Rajasthan cadre.

As per a report in DNA, IAS Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan obtained 125 marks in the essay, 89 marks in GS 1, 118 in GS 2, and 88 marks in GS 3, respectively. Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan scored 868 marks in the written test and 193 marks in the personality test. Overall, he scored a total of 1018 marks.

Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan’s optional subject was Philosophy in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Athar got married to Dr. Mehreen Qazi, a doctor and social media influencer. The couple welcomed a baby boy, Ehaan.In June 2024, IAS officer Athar Aamir Khan and his wife, Dr. Mehreen Qazi, went on Instagram and publicly shared the happy news, expressing their thankfulness: “Almighty has blessed us with a baby boy!”
