New Delhi, Oct 31: After facing flak over poor results in 2017, Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has decided to reduce number of subjective questions and introduce 50 per cent objective questions in matriculation (Class X) and Intermediate (Class XII) examinations, to be held in 2018. Talking to reporters,  BSEB chairman Anand Kishor told reporters,“We have decided to introduce a new examination pattern for Classes X and XII from next year. All theory papers will have 50 per cent objective marks. The board has also decided to provide OMR sheet to the students for the objective questions, carring one mark each to ensure transparency. It has also palnned to give alternative choices in some of the questions. “Most of the subjective questions contain two and five marks each. The board will give optional questions to students. Suppose, if the students have to answer eight questions, they will have option to choose from 12 questions. The steps have been taken to reduce difficulty level in the board examinations. In this way, students of Bihar board will also be able to score more than 95% so that they are at par with students from other boards,”Times of India quoted Kishor as saying.

The BSEB chairman also informed that the new pattern will be followed from the sent-up examination 2017, which will be held on November 14 and November 27 for Class XII and X respectively. Times of India report claims that the BSEB will upload the sample of new pattern of Class XII and Class X on November 1 and November 7 on biharboard.ac.in . On the other hand, the model papers will be uploaded to the BSEB website by November 10 and November 15 for Class XII and Class X student respectively.
