The CAT 2016 notification is out today in every leading newspaper. According to the official notification, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore has not carried out any major changes in the paper pattern, as of yet. There is a high probability that the institute would load the exam changes later on the official website of CAT 2016, like CAT 2015. CAT exam is scheduled to be held on December 04, 2016. According to official website, there are going to be three sections in CAT 2016 such as Verbal Ability (VA) and Reading Comprehension (RC), Data Interpretation (DI) and Logical Reasoning (LR) and Quantitative Ability (QA). Candidates will get 60 minutes to solve each section and there will be no liberty to navigate between sections. The total exam duration will be of 180 minutes. IIM-B has expressed the possibility of some non-MCQ questions, which would be required to answer directly. Candidates can register on the official website of CAT 2016 from August 08, 2016 till 05:00 p.m on September 22, 2016. Candidates will have to select four cities of their choice out of 135 test cities. Admit cards will be available from October 18, 2016. The CAT 2016 result is expected to be released by the second week of January 2017. Candidates should remember that CAT 2016 scores would remain valid only till December 31, 2017. While registering candidates will have to make sure to update the valid e-mail ID and phone number, as the further communication by IIMs is going to be carried out through e-mails or phone. Candidates who have 50% aggregate in their bachelor’s degree can apply for CAT 2016 exam. Candidates belonging to SC/ST or persons with disability can will apply having 45% in their bachelor’s degree. Candidates should also have degree from the UGC recognized university or institute, or any other recognized institute.
