The results of CAT exam 2014 were declared on December 27. Bhavya Bansal, a final year computer science engineer from the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Chandigarh, emerged as the tricity topper of the common admission test (CAT) with the highest percentile of 99.91. The toppers of the CAT exam 2014 include Swapnil Nagare, Bengaluru-based software engineer at Texas Instruments and VJTI, Mumbai alumnus with 99.91 percentile. ( CAT 2014: Cut off percentile for non IIMs institutes)
Approximately 1.97 lakh registered for the CAT exam while 1.68 lakh candidates had appeared for the CAT for admissions to prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) and other B-schools in the country.
The candidates can also apply to the 6 new IIMs which will be established in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The existing IIMs are situated at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Kozhikode, Shillong, Tiruchirapali, Raipur, Udaipur, Rohtak, Ranchi and Kashipur.
