New Delhi: After normalcy returned to northeast Delhi, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday said the exams for classes 10 and 12, which were postponed in view of the recent violence, have been scheduled. Issuing a statement, the CBSE said exams for class 12 will begin on March 31 and conclude on April 14, while exams for class 10 will begin on March 21 and conclude on March 30. Also Read - ‘Take Action Against People For Circulating Fake News About Exam Paper Leaks,’ CBSE to Delhi Police
“The exams in the area for class 12 will begin on March 31 and conclude on April 14, while exams for class 10 will begin on March 21 and conclude on March 30,” the CBSE said. The exams in these areas were postponed till February 29. However, the exams were conducted as per original schedule from March 2 onwards as the CBSE felt that further delay in conducting exams will affect the students’ prospects.
The CBSE had postponed the exams in these areas on the request of Directorate of Education, Delhi Government in view of the violence.
“Considering the request of Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi and to avoid inconvenience to students, staff and parents, the Board has decided to postpone Class 10 and 12 exams scheduled for February 27 in the North-East part of Delhi,” the CBSE had said.
However, the board had said that examinations in the rest of Delhi shall be conducted as scheduled. “The next date of exam for affected students will be notified shortly,” it added.
The Delhi government had informed that over 53 people were killed and over 200 injured in the violence in the northeast part of the national capital.
