New Delhi, June 1: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday, June 1, began the re-evaluation process for Class 10th and 12th students for verification of board exam marks. The CBSE 10th, 12th Result 2018 were declared in the last week of May and the students, who had appeared for the CBSE Board Exam 2018 and unsatisfied with the marks they have been awarded in their answer sheets, will be able to apply for the re-evaluation process from today itself on the CBSE web portal.
The CBSE had decided to do away with the re-evaluation process in the year 2017 but on Delhi High Court’s intervention, after some of the students approached it, the board decided to reintroduce it on ‘first come, first serve’ basis. “Rechecking/re-evaluation process and details for Classes X and XII CBSE examinations now available on CBSE web portal,” announced HRD secretary Anil Swarup on his Twitter handle.
How to Apply For CBSE Re-evaluation
To apply for CBSE re-evaluation for verification of the board exam marks, the candidates will first have to apply for rechecking and then ask for a copy of their answer sheets which would make them eligible for re-evaluation.
Rechecking, Photocopy of Answer Sheets, And Re-evaluation: Dates
Rechecking: The students can apply for rechecking from today (June 1) till June 14, 2018.
Photocopy of answer sheets: The applicants can get a copy of their answer books on June 15 and 16, 2018. The copies will be sent by June 20.
Re-evaluation: After the completion of these two processes, the students will be able to apply for re-evaluation on June 21 and 22, 2018.
Cost of Rechecking, Photocopy of Answer Sheets, And Re-evaluation
For rechecking, the window to make online payments will open from June 1 till 5. The students can make an online payment. The charges for rechecking, seeking the answer sheets and rechecking isn’t cheap though.
For rechecking, the Class 10th 12th students will have to pay Rs 500 per subject. The photocopy of an answer book will be available to you for Rs 700 for Class 12th and Rs 500 for Class 10th. For re-evaluation, the applicants will have to pay Rs 100 per question for both the classes.
