New Delhi, April 2: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have issued a statement asking all students, parents and teachers to ignore fake letter which is being circulated on all social media platforms. In the statement issued, the board said,”It is come to notice of board that certain miscreants active on social media are trying to mislead students, parents and teachers by circulating a fake letter in the name and style of Controller Examinations CBSE. The fake letter, which is going around in the name of Controller of Examinations, states, “The board will be conducting Class 10 Mathematics examination for all candidates except students located abroad on 30th April 2018. ” The official said that this letter is fake. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has suspended an official with immediate effect for lax supervision in examination centre (0859) following the leak of Class Xth and XIIth papers, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) said on Sunday. Speaking to media, Union Education Secretary Anil Swarup stated that a formal inquiry has been instituted to take strict action against the culprits.

Earlier in the day, Delhi’s Karkardooma court sent all three accused arrested in the paper leak case to two day police custody. The two accused teachers identified as Rishabh and Rohit work at a private school in Delhi while the third accused Touqeer is a coaching centre tutor. According to the police, Rishabh and Rohit passed the Economics question paper of Class XII to Touqeer, who later circulated the same among the students.

The teachers reportedly opened the paper 30 minutes before the exam, clicked the picture and forwarded the same to the coaching owner. They were arrested by the Delhi Police’s Crime Branch Cell on Sunday.

On March 28, the CBSE had announced the cancellation of the Class XII Economics and Class X Mathematics papers following reports of leaks. The board said that the Class 12 economics paper exam would be held again on April 25 acros the country while re-examination for class 10 maths paper would be held only in Delhi, NCR and Haryana, “if at all”, in July.
